the RaZoR - move along, nothing to see here!

Re: the RaZoR - heads-up!

Thanks ducatiboy - I just try to get a reasonably sharp shot for my records.

teazer - I'm not committed to the principle of the toroidal chamber, and I hope to flow enough coolant to prevent heat becoming a problem.

Re: the RaZoR - heads-up!

I like the idea, just have no idea how effective it is. Combine that with flat roof and that might be a reasonable compromise between combustion effectiveness and thermal management.

Re: the RaZoR - heads-up!

Just took another stroll through this thread...

... very cool! :D

Keep up the good work! Can't wait to see the finished pipes!! 8)

Re: the RaZoR - deep breathing!

Very little progress on any of my (motorcycle) projects over the Christmas/New Year period; most unsatisfactory.

However these useful items arrived this morning:

When some machining is done they will be combined with these:

Re: the RaZoR - more bits!

I think I get the message!

Engine development is slowly progressing. Some intake parts should be done in about a week from now, and the power valve blades are next.

By the time this is done I'll probably be too old to ride it!

Re: the RaZoR - more bits!

Re: the RaZoR - more bits!

One of the good things about this forum is the level of humour! I never miss tuning into the Brad & Von show every day.

I will post an update soon on the reasons for this build dragging on for so long. The stroker fans on DTT are a damn good crew and will appreciate the difficulties involved in what I'm attempting.

Re: the RaZoR - more bits!

A little late to the party, but I will jump on board.

Now for MOAR RaZoR please!

Re: the RaZoR - more bits!

Some minor developments will be forthcoming in about a week - big news is further away (unfortunately!).

Re: the RaZoR - more bits!

Man, this build is taking its sweet time, but you know what they say about good things.

Re: the RaZoR - minor update!

Intake adaptors (for a Harley, would you believe!) welded to intake trumpets; matched for length and internal profile:

cleaned up a little (with trumpet off-cuts):

Re: the RaZoR - there IS a plan!

The original carby set might have been suitable for the racetrack, but on a road bike there was too much risk of the engine inhaling rocks and small children:

Fitting an airfilter on the bellmouth wouldn't work very well because the slow jet and the main airjet would be getting unfiltered air at a pressure different to that of the main intake. Not satisfactory, therefore this small modification became necessary.

Design of the airfilter is the next task. Thanks to fellow DTTer Ako, I have a plethora of design information to guide the construction of what I hope will be an almost ideal unit for the application!
