    Cleaning, polishing, restoration questions

I appreciate the comments. I have the shop manual. I'm saving money for a move to SD, but I guess buying that book would be a good idea. I've seen it mentioned many times. My problem is that I want to know what my options are before I move forward on the bike. It is a long list. I'm surprised...

    '73 CB350G: Project Sakura

I remember reading someone saying painting the carbs is a bad move, but they didn't provide a reason. I also read soda blasting the carb body is gentle enough and will clean them up nice.

    Cleaning, polishing, restoration questions

Hello everyone, My preface to this question is that I have searched for months to find answers. The question I have seems to be something that is left out of almost every build log. There are tidbits of information here and there, but I have yet to find a good source of information that covers...

My 1st Cafe Rider Build *lots of pics*

I overpaid for mine at a local shop cuz I wanted to build a relationship with the guy... he answers all my questions when he's not busy, kinda cool. It's good to support the local shops when you can. $26/kit when you only use 1/2 the parts might change your mind though.

Looks like it is 105, although a lot of spec pages on the net say 102.5mph. I had to break out the 250/350 honda shop manual again to be sure.

My 1st Cafe Rider Build *lots of pics*

You're welcome. I'm getting ready to cafe a 73 CB350 and rebuild a 71CL350 this spring. I'm doing my research now until I can start once it's warmer. I've got a huge list of stuff (cuz I don't know anything) I need to organize and post. I figure once you know (almost) everything, then...

The spec on the CB350s was either 97 or 102mph... I can't remember. Without digging into the engine for at least a top-end rebuild, you could probably get up to 80-85 if you are lucky. That's my experience and others with CBs in the flat state of Indiana.

CL350 Losing power on the highway?

I know this is an old thread, but I've ridden my '73 cb350 on the highway in the 80 degree sun at 85mph for 2.5 hours each way with no problems. It's my first bike so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I was comfy.
