    Brat-ish build: '81 KZ-440B

    I had the same problem shifting when I redid my KZ440. I had the shift lever at too high of an angle. Try rotating the foot shift lever counter-clockwise 1 spline. After I did this, it allowed me to shift up farther and this fixed the problem with shifting into 2nd. Sounds too simple, but...

    thank you for the quick response... I have switched the connections up to the points wires, but have done anything inside the points cover besides clean......are you saying actually remove the terminals in the points assembly and switch them there? thank you again, Steve
