New rubber that will be going on tomorrow. I hate that I have to pay someone 30 bucks to get it put on. Plus another 15 for the tube. Will be well worth it though. Been getting NO traction lately in the corners.

I was on the fence about doing that job myself but found that it was pretty easy. Did my first tire last weekend. Bought 3 tire levers ($15) at the local shop and muscled it on there. Pretty psyched about not having to schlep it down to the shop.
I thought about it but now that Im nearing the end or the middle ground on my bike dont wanna mess anything up. I dig your cb. good craftsmanship for sure. i think all of us dudes who cant weld get jealous.
SERIOUSLY! so I went to get the tire on today and no one could do it. the first place said the tire was to big ( which I called first! ) 120/90-18 when all my friends rock that tire, then the second place said they could but had no tubes, then the third place i went to was an actual honda dealership. the guy outside said SURE we have the tube and can do BUT we closed 10 minutes ago and said it would be 50 bucks with the tire off the bike. i know this doesn't really add to my thread but people are just special sometimes. im a weekend warrior so my time is very valuable to me. daylight wasted.
so finally got the tire on... in hind sight i wish i would have stuck with the 110/90-18. My little cafe feels almost chopper-ish now. Im hoping it will grow on me? what do you think? about to take it around town to feel the difference now that ill have traction in the rear.
thanks man. once i got it on the ground and rode around for a while i liked it a lot better. its lifted my bike more than i thought. before i was flat footed at a stop. now im using my toes like everyone else. my cafe seat will be changing that though. its been marked as SHIPPED!
I actually love the look of the back tire. I think you will even more once the new seat arrives! Is the front tire the 110? if so, how is there such a big difference in the 120 v 110.
no the front is a 90/90-18. not even a 100. it was one of my first purchases when i got the bike because the front was bad. one of those things you just have to buy before you know the final look you want. the back is growing on me
just doing a little touch up to prevent future rust. just some shelf wear from sitting in a warehouse for 40 years. added some tank trim as well. going to put a good wax job on it when I put it on the bike.
Any suggestions with applying the tank decals. they are the honda emblems from my 69' tank so not exactly the same. tried some double stick strip but it didnt stay at all. anyone done something different or can suggest a better quality brand? i used 3M too.
Can you take a picture from the back, so I can see how the tire looks. I'm getting ready to order new tires for mine and didn't know you could go to a 120. Looks good from the side!
the only place i was worried about was here (see below) but i went over every bad bump that the city had to offer including leaving the ground once or twice 8) and it cleared just fine. just didnt take into consideration that all that width would be going upward when squeezed on our skinny rims. makes the "90" part of the tire appear much larger.
my friends called me last night saying they just bought a 350 for $200 just a few miles from my house. how i didnt see it on craigslist i will never know since i check it every few hours. we got it to the house threw in some gas and spare battery. sprayed a little carb cleaner and after some sputtering it was idling pretty damn good for a bike not ran for 6 years. of course they will break it down properly but man was i so made they got to it first. so many extras i could use from it. i will post a pic later today.
actually i got it off ebay. they are available on a couple of websites but ebay would give it to me faster with free shipping. got it from a company called pinwill cycle i think.
here is one now NEW Shinko 712 120/90-18 REAR Motorcycle Tire. i love it so far with no complaints, rock it if you like the look for sure.
