Teazer you are welcome! Many ways to skin the cat in this instance I feel, with that little bracket. Having TPS on the pump will certainly create space issues in the area. Good luck glueing some metal together to fit the bill I am sure it will be a simple job for you. -Sean
Great project and bike. The sound is worth the build. I'm so jealous of your lap around the Moto GP circuit at Indy, way cool. What ignition are you using?
I have a GT750 in a storage building waiting for me to get the time. Thanks for sharing your story.
Cheers, 50gary

Thanks Gary the GT is a lot of fun. When I lapped the Indy Moto GP circuit I was in the last group to go for the day and I was the last one on the track. Fortunately, I installed brand new Michelin Pilot Powers! When they take you out on the track you enter on the Straight and everyone usually hammers the throttle (if the Lead Bike Marshall is being cool, in 2012 they rode KTM's and he nailed it down the front straight). At this point I was hanging back and creating a huge gap.... At which time I entered a judicious amount of throttle and proceeded to hit 110mph down the straight crossing the start/finish and looking into the stands flying by. Quite humbling, really. Oh, and the sound of the shrieking two stroke reverberating off the stands seems amplified by 10. As I flew by, cameramen in the stands were snapping the old smoker. At the end of the course the Marshalls on the KTM's rolled up giving me thumbs up. To say it was fun is an understatement. I highly recommend you do it if you can.
I have the Newtronic Ignition and it was plug and play, very simple to use, install and tune. I will post some pics up of how I installed it soon. Check out my new on board videos in my next post. Spring fever is here. -Sean
So it hit 65 degrees today here in Indiana and I had to get the GT out for a rip! I have a new camera mounted to my triple clamp and the perspective from right above the Tach is pretty cool. Both videos are under a minute and a half in HD. If you like the sound of two stroke triples enjoy the Jemco's making some noise.

Just prior to the final leather seat build I did the GT's first shakedown run with a tank bag full of tools and fresh NGK's just in case. I ran the motor rich initially after rebuild and with the new unknown Keihin's. I gradually backed the jets, needles and oil injection down from there. The carbs were simple to tune. At this time I was still running the points ignition and it worked well after adjustment. But a Newtronic ignition was in the Buffalo's near future. On this test run I used two sets of plugs and measured the fuel consumption at 17mpg.
The mocked up seat pad was short lived, but gave me an idea of the shape I wanted. It was truly a PITA!
Hoosier we should definitely hook up for a ride, breakfast or something. My son organizes Cars & Coffee in Fort Wayne and there is one coming up next weekend 5/18/13 off of Dupont Rd. starting at 10AM in the Trolly Bar parking lot. If the weather is nice enough we ride our bikes and the car showing is usually pretty good between 50-80 cars of all types from Ferraris to Muscle cars. You can check it out on Fort Wayne Cars & Coffee Facebook page if you like. I would love to see you there. We are trying to get more bike owners and especially cafe/brat guys to show up, cause I love them. It's a good time and very low key. Let me know if you would like to meet there. -Sean
Last weekend at Cars & Coffee My Buffalo and my son's Triumph Super III
I rode my 82 Katana 1000 and Son took my CB900f to Cars Coffee & Bikes last Saturday. The Buffalo stayed in the barn for the day until Sunday when it went for 100 mile ride.
Ha, Ha thanks! And the Buffalo brethren would be saying please don't chop me.... Cause the only original parts left on Bad blue buffalo are the frame, motor, radiator and instruments. And the instruments are about to go!!!
An indispensable tool for you guys making on the fly carb needle adjustments while tuning. Locking medical clamp, perfect for retracting the slide spring for quick changes along the road or anywhere. I can change all my needle heights in about 3 minutes, or about 1 minute per carb!
So simple, you sir are going to save me a lot of stress. I'm always tring to hold the springs up and end up losing clips when I pull the needle out because I only have one hand free.
