finally primering pieces and putting the bike together to get a feel of what its gonna look like and so far that 81 gs650 tank is lookin cool and old school with the drag bars... finally starting to look like a bike again after painstakingly sanding and grinding and drilling all the rust and crust off... christ i need a sand blaster, but heres where im at after i worked on it for 12 hours today.... the frame and tank need to be stripped and primed once i get all the parts i need and the bike looking how i want it and running!!! im excited its not 60 pieces any more.

putting the bike together so i can modify everything to get the look and shape i want so far it looks great... this is my first old street bike and im learning and my printers broken so im kinda goin by what i think, other than running to my computer and looking at a fiche every 2 min like i should but what ever. i always have learned by making mistakes so i wont fuck up when i put that nice new paint on there i want, heres the pics i have for now....

by tomorrow ill have the swingarm, shock, rear wheel and kickstand on. then everything else i got ready.. i have no speedometer or tach yet. Its getting really exciting to see all my hard work come together.. and for me spending under $100o dollars total on everything when said and done u cant beat this bike with 724 miles on it lol. i love seeing all these kids with there 15,000.00 dollar bikes drive by and just laugh.... when all said and done mine is gonna look cooler and have personality and soul and be just as fast till i rephase it at MMI then im gonna smoke em lol i love it

You are right, your hard work does look good!
 
its sittin on suspension and wheels and it feels awesome, when i get paid thurs im gonna buy carb kits, gaskets, oil filter, air filters, clean up the engine put it on the frame get it running! get everything primed then put the bike together correctly how i want it, take it apart and paint it flat black with flat red accents, and clear coat. then it will be ready for MMI in February.. i cant wait to fire that bitty up.. btw im cuttin those pipes just past the pegs.. the louder the better!

i got some amazing news today! i had the vin ran and the bike has never been licensed!!! so i just need to apply for a lost title and i am the original owner!!!!

ok so i ordered everything i need to get the bike running.. carb kits and all the gaskets and battery even so im doing a test put the bike together so i can cut uff what i dont need and whats not gonna get used to lighten up the bike as much as possible. the 81 tank looks better than the original tank i got really lucky heres a pic

I also cut down the seat to how i like it.. i wish i had flat leather but i dont, and my brother wouldnt let me cut up his leather jacket he never wears lol. and i also made a custom license plate light and mount from the break light i took off my 83 honda 3 wheeler lol it looks great i just need to get some turn signal to replace the old fatties. i dont understand y everything in the 80s was so fuckin big

if u look at the bottom piece of the light u can see how i fabd it, i also bought that reflective tape which has really came in handy!

haha, well im a 2 finger clutch and breaker. i was gonna buy shorties but wanted to save some moolah ya know
 
got new grips off of amazon for 9.99 with throttle tube! great deal for bad ass grips. I got a vynil sticker hook up so im gonna ghost some pics on my tank

finally got EVERYTHING possible for the engine and the carbs to run correct.. now carb kits & floaters, gaskets, battery, fuses, spark plugs, and now im starting to clean the engine, then probly paint it
