Might be something worth thinking about Staffy - it's nice and warm up here right now.

How many people have had that seat now? Somewhere around 6 or 7?

Re: 68 CL175 Project Vicarious - the heat is on......

Which seat is it? I had a fairing that bounced around this forum for a while.

Re: 68 CL175 Project Vicarious - the heat is on......

The seat from the (red, black, and white) Naught.

Hey Diesel, any luck on the larger mains?

Not yet. I spent an hour fucking around with the brake and after installing new pads got it to work, sort of. I made baffles from Brandon's sketch and they work great! still loud but they take the piercing metallic ping out. I think I'm going to run these pipes and use the ones you sent me on a future project.

I thought I had it tuned pretty good but by the time I got around to test ride and fine tune I had drained the battery enough that it wouldn't run right. So its on the charger. I ordered 130's and 135's and am running the 125's with the needle dropped one notch to start. after I install the idle jets we'll see what happens.

Then touch up the paint and clear coat add a new seat cover and I am D-U-N Done!

Just ordered the longer shocks I need for the R5 too! That should be wrapped this month as well!! Wooo Hoooo!!!!

Just have to make a box for it and rewire everything in the rear end and that will solve my electrical woes!

Re: 68 CL175 Project Vicarious - the heat is on......

I have your electrical bits. Ill get em' to ya asap!

Re: 68 CL175 Project Vicarious - the heat is on......

Thanks man! I still have that stuff of yours as well.

Re: 68 CL175 Project Vicarious - the heat is on......

Been hacking away on a skid plate recently - it's done for now, I have a couple other things to do before this bike's on the road.

I just mounted it to the bike tonight so it was too dark to get a decent pic. Sorry!

Re: 68 CL175 Project Vicarious - the heat is on......

Thanks guys - I don't want to take a "complete" pic til the bike is......well, complete.

Maybe tonight or tomorrow though.

So I found out why my battery had "Charge only in upright position" on it. And had to make a new fender / battery tray. First a little teardown so I can check the limits of the shocks:

Then the fender installed:

Here's the custom badges (thanks again Twisted):

And the vinyl that Aetsh had cut for me (thanks again to you too Shaun):

Now hopefully I can have a safe and maintainence-free ride down at Mountanfest!!

Re: 68 CL175 Project Vicarious - the heat is on......

Maybe i should get a couple of those DTT badges for the CX.... not Penn ones obviously...

Re: 68 CL175 Project Vicarious - the heat is on......

So did the battery leak?! I'm kinda confused ???

Re: 68 CL175 Project Vicarious - the heat is on......

Yeah Staffy, those badges are extremely easy to make. Some polished aluminum, vinyl decals, and some emblem tape is all you need.

Aetsh - it wasn't actually leaking (at least not all the time), just when it was charging. It looked like i ran over a little puddle of oil so I wiped it off with my fingers......turned out to be from the battery. Surprisingly my fingers didn't melt off.
