So, I was busy on the lathe and drill press this weekend. Got the collars made and this is what I came up with. The stock ones weigh 8oz ea and these weigh 2oz ea. Pretty pleased, now I have to get some stuff bolted together!

I think at first I wasn't feeling these collars... But now that I seem them on the bike... Super slick, man!

Its nice putting parts on that don't have to be taken off again! Looks like I'm actaully doing something, hahaha
Kev

That is the best part, when you realize, this won't be coming apart again!!!

Re: '75 cb200t cafe build- IT RUNS!!

Thanks for the nice words. I've been trimming the wiring harness down and started hooking it up. I still have to hook up the lights and horn but have the other parts done. I had power to the coils, so I put the tank on and dumped some gas in and "Vroom", she started right up! Engine sounds good and tight. Only had the header pipes on, so need to finish that, put a chain on and a million other little things but there is light at the end of the tunnel!!!!!

Congrats!! Big moment!!

Do me a favor Stik, start her up and pull the right side exhaust valve tappet. let her run and be sure you are getting oil up top. should be gushing around in there pretty good and making a mess on the floor.

Thanks guys! Diesel, i will check the top end oil flow for sure, didn't have a tach cable on and it was coming out of the cable drive pretty well.
The pipes except for the megaphone will be black and will have them put back on tomorrow afternoon.

I got the exhaust finished and mounted. Really happy with the black. "John Deere black muffler paint", use it at the farm on the diesel tractors and it sticks. I'll let you all know how it works. Got the K&N's on. I'm down to finishing some wiring, seat, chain, and a few loose ends. Next week, hopefully it will come off the lift and boogy down the road!!

Today I made a tach cable block off and tomorrow I'm going to order a chain. If I get my seat back early this week, Wednesday I should be able to take it for a spin!! Still lots of loose ends but getting closer...

awesome job. that thinner black pin-stripe on the tank looks much better too.

excellent work.

Ya Kev, great work on the bike. I remember you modded the frame for those filters- great idea.

Thanks for all the nice remarks! I talked to my seat guy last night, he's done a ton of seats for me over the years, and got the fire lit under him. I bet I get a call from him today or tomorrow. I'm going to order a chain today to have for tomorrow. Think I might head down to the insurance place before work and get that taken care of. Oh, and ordered a mirror yesterday as well.
Kev

Yesterday, I got insurance for the scoot. Today, I made some tabs to mount the plate (and found it, geeez), The chain came in and cut it to length and installed it. I took a pic but my 7year old camera decided not to load to the computer. As soon as I'm done typing this, I'm going to buy a new one. It snowed last night and today just a little bit. Should be gone tomorrow. If I get my seat, I can take it on the maiden voyage!
