Re: XS650 chop - Short break, please enjoy the shit talking while you wait.
Ok. Third AND FINAL seat ordered thanks to some help from RichArd. See Brad, I told you he wasn't completely useless...
Tomorrow Ill order the cool fork shrouds for the stock front end I'm going to run. The ZX7 forks are rad, but really overkill. They should be on a proper performance machine. The shrouds will retain much of the beefy front end look I liked about the ZX7 forks but in a more traditional sense, which is cool w me.
That just leaves a bottom mount headlight and some seat springs to aquire and I can finally start final fab work.
Next week I'll be working on the road, but after that l can bring my motor into work to clean it up and repaint before stuffing it back into the frame. Nothing fancy, just some basic satin black. Speaking of the motor, through some good old horse trading I have a rad vintage Kerker 2-1 for the old girl too. Needs some love, but it'll kick ass once I'm done with it.
Hmmm... I think that's about it for now. Sorry about the lack of pics. Photobucket's being a jagoff at the moment.
No respect I tell ya... I get no respect at all. My doc told me I was gonna get cancer if I didn't quit smoking. Before I left he gave me a pck of Marlboros and a lighter. Sheesh...
Re: XS650 chop - Short break, please enjoy the shit talking while you wait.
This Saturday I have a feee pass to use all out equipment at work (read WELDER), so anyone who's still left here at this train wreck of a thread can expect updates within I couple days. Finally.
Re: XS650 chop - Yeah... I actually acomplished something on this piece of S#! T.
Made a nice little battery box from scrap shit at work. Feels great to actually make something for this bike. So much of it has been off the shelf stuff that its nice to be able to say "yup... that's mine". Even if its just a small and simple thing like a battery box. Anyhow, it looks like I'll finally be headed to Brads to get his help in wrapping up the fab work this Sat. Should be able to button up a finished rolling chassis over the next month or so. Then it's FINALLY onto the motor.

Ok. Brad welded in the tank and battery box mounts this weekend, cause he's a swell fella. At the moment I'm sorting the rad Kerker 2-1 I snagged from Taggat. There was some rust and pin holes from roadrash.
