What kind of battery did you go with?

I have a 81 cb 750 and i am trying to find a good hiding spot for the battery too, but since this is Elec start only it kinda makes it difficult to relocate.

is that a benji tank and tail?

Nice work Brad. I just re-discovered where I got the "inspiration" for my chain guard from ::)
Do you remember where you got your crankcase breather filters from? I having a hard time finding some over here.
cheers
ian

Ian, thanks for the nice comments.
I got those from Summit Racing.
I used http://www.summitracing.com/parts/KNN-62-1100/
and ground the stud on top down. I wanted a chrome top filter but with no K&N logo on it.

Alternator/ points, clutch cover hardware.. Where did you get/ what sizes are they?

I got a set of fasteners off ebay. If you search for chrome fasteners "1982 cb750 (or whatever)" there they will show up.

Battery is a lithium-ion from Shorai.
They come in various CCA ratings.
Think we need 200cca and this thing is 220cca or close.

The tank came from Benji, tail section is Roc City and I modified it quite a bit.
Added the bump for the frame kick-up and opened up the rear.
It came with a flat end.
The Benji tank is about 2" longer than stock and comes with a new frame mount.

HEd that looks insane over all! love how you did not go clubmans, not only does it look sick but you have way more control and can ride forever with those bars!

Oh no, I have been reading more and more about the Benji's products startign to fail and no service out of them for repairs etc. Hope you get it worked out cause the bike is sweet.

As you may know, I had a problem with my gas tank which I plan to describe in FULL when it is all resolved.

However, I did get my seat upholstery finalized.
Here is the installed shot:

I've also been working on a few small details (chain guard/exhaust hangar/etc.) but haven't taken any pictures.

Hope everyone had a safe 4th of July.
Despite all of the bickering, one thing we all should agree is that
we are lucky to live in the best country in the world thanks to all
the people who fought & died to defend it.

Did a bit of detail work this weekend while waiting on my new gas tank.
I'm tired of not having a tank, I'm ready to tune & ride this thing.

Added a brass detail to the exhaust hanger.

Finished the chain guard end design detail.

Decided to use a brushed look on my bar clamps, so finished grinding them and detailed.

so after patience and searching everywhere, i found a guy on craigslist in utah selling a 1986 GSX-R1100, and he was including a extra set of stock carbs with the sell of the bike. i was able to get him to sell me those carbs, and they're in good shape, paid a little more for them ($225) but i was able to find them.
