A Kiwi build from scratch

That would be epic! I remember watching the doco about the Britten when he took it to the US for the first time and competed against the Ducati's and Stroudy smoked em all. We are planning to go to Phillip Is next year for the MotoGP. watch Rossis last year on the factory M1

I remember that doco, Did't the only part he didn't make (Ducati sleeve) crack and he welded it up

This is how I see the bike races at the island, The Super bikes are for enthusiasts and everyone goes to the GP, Both excellent though :)

I stopped following the WSBK when it was turned into the Ducati cup. just got silly watching a manufacturer dictating to the FIM the rules for the class, and they just kept winning. changed now, good to see Kawasaki on the top step, but I enjoy watching the riders and top line machinery in the GP

Sooo, cant find a rear axle long enough for the job and couldnt be ass'd machining down a old shock leg so ordered some hollow bar. should have enough to do the job

700/17 on the back eh ;D
;D ;D looking for that "tyre so big it wont corner"look.
when I was talking to the lady in the shop, she first quoted me 400 meters, I replied back saying I only required 400mm. smallest length avaialbe was 2 meters, I said that would be fine. dont think she was too impressed ::)

I am lucky to have a fab shop where I can go get drops for my little projects, but I don't do any machining, I would be dangerous with a lathe or mill so not much more than some tube or flat bar.

I like to give it a go first. If I cant do it I get a mate to show me. If all else fails, I will be-grudgingly pay someone to do it.
Give it a crack first I reckon, whats the worst that can happen?!

Nice mate, that's why I like having a lathe at home  make your own stuff just how you want it ;D

jiggy jig time and an old school power saw we brought back to life. it amazes me that people just throw stuff out because it doesn't go anymore but no one looks as to why. the throw out clutch had worn out on the flywheel. pulled it apart, had a look and made a new bronze spacer. hour later all fixed! score

I see what you are gonna do there now....weld those adjusters in the swingarm eh

Hi Jack ;D

I think the typical install is to weld in a pocket and the adjuster set is inset and sandwiched with the axle.

2 lever sets? you got me an Xmas gift? How kind ::)
yep, one set for a Buell (cable clutch) and the other set for the Gixxer (brake). will have to see if I can find someone putting buell brakes onto a GSXR and sell them the spare set ;D

I have cut out some blocks of alloy that I will machine into inserts, these will then be welded into the swingarm and then these CNC chain adjusters will bolt onto those. This way I only have to machine out the slot for the axle and a pocket to hold the adjusters, and these look trick as
