Re: 360 dragger/bobber brat what ever

This will be a quick teaser.
Again, everthing is still in mock up. Got the model A light/tag holder mounted. I really like it. Found a piece of leather that resembled a flap for a bag. Cut a hole in the back and ziptied it to the tank, and folded the top to look like a flap. For the real one I'll try to make the shape fit the bike better. Rolled her out side and snapped a photo for you guys. I'm working in the hay fields all week so things are crazy here. Hope to get more time next week to finish her. BTW i'm starting to dig the no fender look again, LOL.

Re: 360 dragger/bobber brat what ever

rock the fender.. looks dope... for the tank bag, in europe it is very popluar to have these shoulder style bags, almost like man purses. they had tons of leather style ones that would be perfect if you gut off the straps. also look at some fork bags, windshield bags, or even some types of camera bags will work. sky is the limit on that one... but he over shoulder man bags all those guys had over there would work out really well there. YOU KNOW I DIG THE LIGHT!

Re: 360 dragger/bobber brat what ever

I'll third the motion...getting your sack dragged into the tire at 60 after a bad pothole would be.........disappointing......

Re: 360 dragger/bobber brat what ever

Really like the light. +1 on keeping the fender.

Re: 360 dragger/bobber brat what ever

Lights great, defo needs the fender and the bag needs work. JRK seems to know just alittle bit too much about the man bags if you ask me ;)

Re: 360 dragger/bobber brat what ever

Hey guys thanks for the input! and for the props. The bag is just a folded piece of leather just to see how it might look. But I agree it does need a little triming but I really like it ;D As far as the fender goes I'm sure in the end it will have one but to be honest Both hands would have to leave the bars before I could ever get near the tire. The pics don't show how far back the seat actually is. If my ass ever ended up beyond the seat it its all over anyways ;D.
Hey JRk, I like the idea of finding a bag that may fit, however I also like the idea of making my own. I think I can make/form it to fit the tank better than one I could buy, maybe ;D
Just in case I will still keep my eyes open for one already made. Man purse, what's wrong with you Joe? Haha, Just kidding dude. I can dig those, even see myself with one. Not a bad idea at all!

Re: 360 dragger/bobber brat what ever

Re: 360 dragger/bobber brat what ever

Man, seriously, this thing just gets better and better. I can't believe how much I am digging the conversion. Props on the seat bracket and tank bag idea...very ingenious! I'll be waiting here with the popcorn ready!

Re: 360 dragger/bobber brat what ever

Hey guys, thanks for the links. I'll save them for winter. Funds are very tight right now so maybe once I bring this thing in for its winter work i can look into doing somehing cool like that.

I really want to do up a ride video so maybe you can put that popcorn to good use. ;D

Thanks for the props fellas. When works kicks my ass it feels refreshing to sit down to a slice of 'Do The Ton'. ;D Glad this place is here. Maybe i can throw some coins at the moderators soon.

Re: 360 dragger/bobber brat what ever

Troy this bike is very, very cool. I know there's lots left to do, but the overall look is pretty much perfect. You're really making me want to start a bobber project (my wife thanks you )

Re: 360 dragger/bobber brat what ever

Hey Troy, you are causing a lot of us grief with this build. I want a bobber now and I have to fight at least 2 hours with the wife to just get a part for the first bike ;D Let alone get another project! This is looking awsome, the only thing that sucks, you cut up a really nice cafe build to do it. Too bad you couldn't have kept it, and found another bike to bob, but like you said, it was already half way there from the first build.

Keep it up.

Cheers

Re: 360 dragger/bobber brat what ever

Thanks again for the props guys. Just don't anyone else get any idears of cutting up their nice cafes! I'm the only one allowed to f up a perfectly good cafe ;D Maritimebiker I know just what you are saying about trying to pry parts from the wife!

The swingarm from Chrisf arrived yesterday. I had him make it with 5" of stretch instead of my mock up of 4.5". I have to tell ya that 1/2 an inch makes a huge difference. The bike looks so much better. It has more tire frame clearance, and now the seat sits just below the top of the tire, etc...I'm really glad that I went with 5" insteadd of 4.5". I mounted it up and rolled it outside for a couple of photos. Also, the cb tank and nice new fender arrived today from Kanticoy. He has thrown some nice parts at this build and I am in debt for some pay it forward. He also sent me a chain and it too arrived today. Very cool man, Thank you!
