they work AMAZING!!!

Re: 360 bobber/Brat new tires update

Cool, I just ordered some. Never heard of them, but it sounds easy enough. Thanks Joe!

Re: 360 bobber/Brat new tires update

Thanks for the link Joe. I hope to order some at the end of the week. Much appreciated!

Hey Swagger, I think you will like it. They look pretty fat and they ride even better. With the smaller rim I'm sure I'm not getting the most out of them (ie:tread life, tread contact/traction etc...), but I could care less. For the way i ride i think they'll be fine. The shop with the tubes is closed on Mondays so I hope to sneak out Tomorrow evening to pick up a new one. Then maybe on Wednesday I'll give it a go. I should have a few new photos by the end of the week.

Re: 360 bobber/Brat new tires update

Its raining here so I had a little time to work on the scoot. I mounted the rear tire and inflated to make sure it would hold air. Went much smoother this time. Use plenty of lube was good advice! Anyhow, I then went to town sanding and prepping. I then deflated it and taped it all off. I ran the tape between the wheel and tire and it made for a nice job. I think it turned out sick. It looks so smooth and shiny almost like someone poured the paint on or something.
I then went to work on my new headlight bucket. That bucket was paid forward by Kanticoy (thanks brother I still owe you one!) I did the bucket with the dark bronze as a base and then did the lace overlay in antique brass. I did the retainer ring in antique brass. It too turned out real nice.

after clearcoat. I used duplicolor wheel clear. I figure it would be about the toughest I could get without going two stage clear. turned out real nice. I had a horrible time trying to get this thing photographed and the pics really don't do it justice. Turned out really sweet

Re: 360 bobber/Brat new tires update

That bucket is tres bon! jesus! Looks so damn good. My bike is getting ready for paint (in stages) & Im doing some gold stuff in there. Might have the same feel as this.

Re: 360 bobber/Brat new tires update

Thanks a bunch guys. Believe it or not I had a Hard core Harley Bud want to take her out the other night. To top it off he wants me to do a little painting on a couple of Harleys for him. Pretty nice compliment.

I'm really wanting to run wider forks but without much (if any) modification. I'd also like to lace up a wider 18" wheel. Anyone know what forks might work?

Re: 360 bobber/Brat new tires update

This is a great thread from the streetfighter's page (explains fork swaps).

Holy crap that is so sweet! Thank you so much for posting that link. Here I was trying to search, and search and search. That is so awesome! Thank you!

Re: 360 bobber/Brat new tires update

Hey Whiteflagwar, while the bearing info is awesome, there are still a couple of other things to consider.

The information below was Found here: http://dotheton.com/index.php?topic=8774.0
Well, unfortunately I've hit a snag with the front end swap. The fork tubes and lowers from the CB750C are too long to work for my application.

I had to slide the forks up about 4" through the trees just to get them to match the stock height of the CB360 forks, nevermind that I had planned to lower them about an inch from stock.

This in and of itself wouldn't have been a deal-breaker (even though my front end looked like a giraffe's head) except that the fork lowers on the CB750C are a good deal taller than the CB360 lowers, reducing my front suspension travel to an unrideable level. I could bottom them out just by pushing down on them with my upper body weight.

So, I've given up on the DOHC forks, even though the leading-axle stup would've provided a little more trail and the air-forks were a nice touch. I've decided to sell them for anyone who's interested.

Instead, I went back to my original plan and picked up a set from an SOHC CB750 off eBay complete with a dual disc setup: calipers, discs and hub. Looks good to me (the top tree isn't pictured but is included). I'll have to wait 'til it arrives but they already look a good deal shorter than the DOHC set -

Big Sherm deserves all the credit. He must have a lot of time on his hands to have researched all that!

Re: 360 bobber/Brat new tires update

Hey Troy...

When you say you want 'wider forks', are you looking for larger diameter forks or spacing your forks wider than they are (Fatbob style)? If you just want them farther apart I can easily machine you some triple clamps that'd use your stock forks. I can also make your new axle and spacers. I don't normally offer my services like this because I don't want to shill, but my day job is no more as of this week...

...Anyhow, I went from a 3.0 in the front to a 4.0. I see little difference in width but the new tire is way taller.

I see that you went with the Duros - is that 19 front/ 18 rear? I'm trying to get some k180s but they're harder to find than unicorn shit. Duros might be the way to go. Are you going to have to move your rear fender up now?

I'll send you a pm tonight, man that would be wicked!

Oh man, I didn't mean to come off as insensitive. So sorry to hear about the job. I was just so stoked about your offer that I just now caught on about the day time work. That really sucks but hopefully something will come along real quick.

Re: 360 bobber/Brat new tires update

Hey Kev,
Both rims are 18s. I'll tell ya for the money i love these tires. I'm not sure how they will wear, because they seem way softer than the super hard and dryed out factory tires I was running. I'm in the process of mounting the back tire on right now and yes I have to shorten the spacers I used under the fender strut. So far I cut them in half (maybe 1/4" off) and hopefully that will be enough. I think these beefy tires took the bike to a new level. I think it really changes the look of the bike. I'm loving it. And if I can get new wider trees from Swagger that would be soooo awesome. I'm really stoked Swagger!
