Now that I have them I'm debating do I do orange as my pinstripe color or sublime green???
Im still thinking ivory/chamois will look good as the break up color still.

It is all disassembled and ready to get the frame painted!

I'm debating do I powdercoat it, or paint it??
I don't have a air compressor or gun. So my options are limited if i do it myself.

What is a good gas resistance solution? That is cheaper than $300+ to powdercoat the frame?

Frame coating is ordered!! I am going to use a product called Rust Bullet. It is a two coat system. That you can brush or spray on. I am going to brush it on. They say the brush marks will level out. It is chip/chemical resistance. The first coat is a rust inhibitor. I'll report back once i coat it how well it works. They did some pretty serious tests on rust resistance.

Rust Bullet is a lot like POR15. It should work well but if it's like POR15, it's not UV resistant so it will fade. Another option is Rustoleum or Tremclad if you're Canadian. Very durable and rust resistant.

Rust bullet base coat and top is UV resistant.
It covers 50 sq ft. So I'm hoping I'll have enough to do my frame and a few misc parts with it!

Very cool. Curious as to why you powder coated tank/fender but not frame?
It is cheaper to powder coat the tank/fender than painting it a similar color. The tank/fender was $200. Painting would be about $450 if I did the prep.

To powder the frame flat black is $300.00. That didn't include small misc pieces. The rust bullet is $150.00.
Unfortunately I'm on a small budget.

No shame in that! Very interesting about powder being cheaper.. I guess it's nice than your stuff was straight, otherwise you'd have to paint or be good at metal work!

Rust Bullet will be great. My dad's got a frame that was painted over 20 years ago and it still looks good :) I took the time to paint my frame and am finding that it is scratching easier than I wanted so before final assembly it will be powdered. I guess I did not let it cure long enough?

Yes, I lucked out by using a new tank. And the fender was in good condition.

What did you use to paint your frame??

another option for frame coating is por 15 hardnose. its amazing stuff and is uv resistant. im a little late here but may be usefull for a future product. I am going to be filming a few videos of what its capable of when I coat my frame next week.

That stuff looks pretty interesting. I'd like to know how well it goes on, curing, polishing req'd, etc..

Yea, my ship has already set sail with the Rust Bullet. Bu I will remeber it for next time! Thanks! Let us know how it works out!

Got my neck bearings switched out. For some reason I was viewing changing them to roller bearings as a huge pain in my ass. With lost of swearing, big hammers and me getting pissed because it didn't work how it was suppose to...

But everything went smoothly.Got everything swapped out (except for putting the bearing on the triple tree shaft). in about 30 minutes. With only a large flat head screw driver, a claw hammer, 2x4 and some grease. Almost went too smoothly, I thought I did something wrong!

Anywho still waiting for paint for the frame. Ordered a custom length speedo gauge cable from MotionPro, picked up some headerwrap and black VHT wrinking paint for my side cases.

Since i'll have the cases open again, isn't there a oil mod for the 360's. That I should do while its torn apart?

The easiest mod, and most important is to grind some relief into the spring loaded transfer piece that seals the case and oil passage tot he rotating oil filter. See CrazyPJ's post on it....At high RPM's, the oil pressure gets high enough to push the spring open, reducing oil flow to the head when you need it most....
