calling all BMW guys. /// and gals

Got the new front tire on. So the pair of avon road riders. They breath confidence on the road. I have no qualms about racing it through the corners now or taking it up to speed. Grip is really nice on these and the thinner tires actually make the bike handle better. Got flanders Low euro bars for it and have em on there. I have mixed feelings about these. Gone is the super laid back feel. These put you on the motorcycle for sure handling improved dramatically. However, They are not as comfy as the US bars at least at side road speeds and they feel a little narrow for my tastes as well as tweak my wrists in just enough to make me notice. Not sure how I feel about them yet. But they do make the bike look considerably more european which i like. Heres some pics as it stands.

Went ahead and ordered a set of battery covers, a right side metallic trim peice for the seat ($18!!!!!) and a oil pan gasket (figured i should remove and clean the oil pan with the next oil change which i will be doing before end of season) plus it looks like PO used some gasket goo on there to seal it and i hate gasket goo. Should pretty much finish er up for now. The Tail light cover doesn't seat proper so i need to look into that but other than that... that should be a wrap. All in all i am still just under 2k on this project. I think that's not too shabby for a bike of this quality. Only other issue i am having is a squeaky tachometer and the intermittently leaky bing carb.

The bike is looking awesome. If your bars are the same as my 'euro' BMW OEM bars, you'll get used to them I think. I rode 10 days straight on those bars on interstates and twisty backroads and loved every minute. Of course there are 'in between' bars like generic 'superbike' bars for $30 you can always try.

Cleaned up really well. For $2K you've gotten a great bike that will last a lifetime. Maybe just take the saddlebag bracket off and hit it with some black spray to blend it in and see about some black plug wires.

It's really looking great! I love the way the new bar looks, very purposeful. Perfect bike for the "Distinguished Gentleman's" ride on 9/30!
