Hey guys, sorry haven't been on in a LONG while. A lot has happened and it's bitter sweet. First off work has been crazy busy with the New Year but that's nothing new. The Mrs. and I split so that's been a damn mess and all my stuff including the bike stuff all had to go into storage until I could figure things out. Worst of all the machinist I was using closed up shop and bailed out East and everything I worked so hard for AND PAID FOR went with the dirty F&*K. Still trying to track him down. Most of his equipment is gone. That which wasn't part of his lease anyway. Spoke to the owner of the building and the guy owed him a bunch of money and doesn't know where he is, just that he lived out East somewhere and recalled seeing a van with New Brunswick plates (he thinks) a few days before he bailed.
The good news is....another reason I waited so long before coming back on is because I didn't want to come back without a solution and feel like a damn fool. I was saving up for a new sheet of plastic and have purchased my own CNC machine. Just a small hobby one but it's currently running and cutting out guides. It's slow but seems to do the job. Luckily I had the programs from the other guy and hired another gent to transfer them into a language this machine understands.
I have video on my cell of the machine running and cutting out a guide. I'm going to post it to youtube and put the link on here this evening. I debated on just refunding everyone's money on paypal but then no one would have guides. Figure the bikes are useless without them, including mine and guys would rather have parts than their money back. That is still an option though if anyone wants a refund. PM me.
As for part pricing and orders. I AM NOT currently taking new orders. I will be ensuring that orders already paid for are filled first according to the order they were received. Don't worry about me running out. The specialty sheet of plastic required for the job was only available in 4x10 or larger and very expensive so there's LOTS of material here for many many guides. After those initial orders are filled the price will still be 99.99 US but it will be for the guide or the tensioner and shipping will be additional. I've lost so much money on this I've got to try and at least break even.
Once again sorry for the bs this has put everyone through. From now on I'll definitely give projects a lot more thought before taking them on. Be careful what you wish for right? lol. I will post that youtube link later this evening and you guys can tell me your thoughts, questions and concerns if any. Will also come on frequently with updates and be more informative on the situation now that I actually have the ball in motion again.
Cheers.
