CB360 - Monoshock Brat

Check these out:

Cheap and simple to wire. You'll need a bit of rubber (even a cut up hose will work) to prevent the posts from grounding, but for a brand new R/R, it's hard to beat that price.

Rated for 15A.

How much of a difference is it if you change from the std reg/rectifier to a single late model unit?

I was thinking of doing this to my CB360, it has std charging etc etc

I would only do it if I was doing a complete re-wire, it's easier to use separate units if your using stock wiring

I was going to use my wiring until I pulled the old tape of and it feel apart in my hands, so now I will be doing a complete rewire, I have picked up a Reg/Rec from one of the small engines at work, its a Yanmar single cyl diesel and has a small alternator that charges a 9AH Battery, the Reg/Rec looks like the one in the link Sonreir posted. Brand new, never used and the best part......free! ;D

Kinda threw everything together today just to make sure it fits. I tested the shock with the full weight of the motor. It seems maybe too springy but definitely a fine starting place for road testing.

I got a compression tester today and both cylinders push 170psi, is this good? I haven't found the definitive answer yet, every thread I read seems to have a different opinion. I read 150 is good. 110 is too low.

To do...prep and paint frame, rims/tires, brakes, wiring, exhaust.

Thanks Finnigan!

Also, I ended up reading in the cb360t manual that compression should be right at 171psi. I think I'm good to go.

Yes. The exposed monoshock between tank and seat is awesome. I really like how the whole overall look is developing!

WOW I agree with Finnigan this thing is awesome, alot of what floats around in my head is actually coming together right infront of me, top work. ;)

Yep - looks amazing.

The bike looks like a 'real' bike, that is - the parts all work well together as if they were designed to, and don't look like a mess.

Great work on the mono shock - I am inspired.

Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement. I can't wait to ride the damn thing.

Thought I would post these since im doing it totally wrong. Ill try something different tomorrow. This was just for fun.

You guys have no idea how much I want to do all of that! It would definitely be different. However, I do want to have a small muffler of some kind. My neighbors...and probably myself would not appreciate the straight pipes for too long. Probably a Stainless Steel "Shorty" Universal Cone Muffler like this one...
