No idea about You Tube, I already know this stuff so don't watch bike 'How To' vids.
I have looked at a couple of Jeep transmission video's, didn't really tell me much though, mainly 'it's too complicated, take it to a specialist' BS and of course, the latest is O2 sensors ::)
The majority of sites seemt o have people who 's idea of DIY is paying someone to do stuff while they watch.
I joined Pontiac Firebird forum, the ijits there though the Pontiac 389, 400, 454, etc. had 100% VE so I gave up pretty quick(it's closer to 60% on a good day at lowish rpm)

OMG

Just watched about half of first carb video. No wonder I'm getting so many messed up carbs if people are following it.

I guess I'm going to have to make a video to correct the misinformation. Most of what I saw wasn't too bad, except the primary and secondary main jets are backwards, the 'discharge nozzle' is needle jet and secondary discharge nozzle is really primary discharge.. I stopped when I saw how he was doing float levels, that's just wrong for so many reasons

I'll admit I have seen all the videos he's every posted and soaked them all up - I never knew about this site before I started my build
No one else makes videos like this, high quality production and very "matter of fact" educational. I searched youtube for "CB360" and never saw your videos even come up in the search - so I was glad to see you posted them here.

everyone always says "someone needs to make a better video than this" but never does it haha

Yeah, I have a Go-Pro and a couple of cheap camera's to fit on bikes but nothing of great quality.
I was thinking maybe headband mount with Go-Pro so you see exactly what I see. No idea if it's a good idea though and no idea when I'll have time (editing takes me 5~10 times longer than filming)The only vids I've watched are the 3 on carb build, doubt if I'll watch any more as they make me really mad with the 50/50 OK and downright wrong information. Various search engines only use rankings, not if the information is correct so her comes out 'on top' Pretty much everyone knows what happens when yuou do a search for jetting with pods (there's only me) A few years ago a guy on eBay was making new emulsion tubes to get 3 jet Honda carbs working but I haven't seen him advertise for a long long time At $48.00a pair they were a pretty good deal, there is a lot that can go wrong drilling 0.60 mm holes in sides of a round tube. (I know as I made new emulsion tubes for the VM32's I fitted on XS650)

It's been a long slog but I'm almost caught up with the backlog of stuff for other people.
Two more projects to go. Cylinder head for 360 and CB750 piston set for CB 550 that's taking 'forever' to get done ::)

if only you had time to work on your own stuff :)

Nah, I got plenty here as well, several 360's and my XS650's plus plans to eventually build a 'special' motor for my 600 Katana (newest bike I've got, 1995)

Jaxon decided I really didn't need a keyboard on laptop (only computer I have working at present) Got a USB keyboard on it at present, afraid to fit a 'new' one in case he does same thing with it. New 500Gb hard drive I bought was faulty, replaced but not much use when it screwed up SATA port on mobo :( Taking what little time I have to work on stuff to fix things instead of fix other people's things and get a little cash ;D Down to 2 sts of carbs to do and still have cylinder head to finish. Jaxon also hid the new bronze valve guides I made, he loves being in garage and 'me help' ??? 8)

I completely forgot to post picture of little helper getting secondary main jet and emulsion tube out of 360 carb. Probably way more use then the faulty video's ;D

When I finish backlog of carbs, I'm going to make a hydraulic clutch conversion. I was down garage few days ago repairing lathe ( managed to burn out motor, before Christmas and it's a discontinued part) Well shuffling stuff around to figure out how to mount a motor almost twice the size (1hp, up from claimed 3/4hp) I picked up a sprocket cover and realised just how easy it would be to convert sprocket cover. for hydraulic piston. I'll have to make one and see if it's feasible, only needs about 1/8"~3/16" movement

Sign me up! If you can make that work I want to be at the front of the line to buy one.

Just posted a quick video to You Tube, majority of carbs I get are set toi 'over travel' so you only get about 3/4 to 7/8 actual throttle plate 'opening. I should have done the vid before I started taking carbs apart for cleaning but...............https://youtu.be/Jd0sZ0rEpv4

Hey PJ, I just watched this vid as well as the one you did some years ago about syncing the carbs. Dumb question: Are these things part of what you do when we send carbs to you? I'm assuming they are, but I never asked... You did mine a while back and they've been sitting in a box waiting for me to get off my posterior and get the bike done. Am I correct in assuming that I'll still have to fiddle some w/ them once things are all together and running or should they be pretty close as-is? Thanx, Cory

Yep, it'sv just one of the things I check and re-set. Should be pretty close but will probably have to adjust fuel screws as they have to match what the motor wants. I send them out at 1-1/2 turns so I know bike will start. Sometimes secondary main jets need changing. You got to get them on the bike and find out. Carb modifying is fun but often the cleaning involved kinda slows me down (no, it always slows me down, don't like doing it ;D )

Thanx, Buddy. I figured that, but I was a bit aggravated w/ myself for not asking in the past. I have lots and lots of saddle time over the years, but in all honestly, not all that much wrench time, well not on bikes anyway. The other day Levi said to me, "Before you put the engine back into the frame you are going to set the valves, aren't you?" My answer was, "Ummmm..." Guess I'd better look that up in the manual.

And as for the cleaning, it may not be enjoyable, but you did a beautiful job on mine, they look like new. (They look better than the rest of the engine. :( )
