I love 360's and was pumped to stumble across this beauty. I don't really have an inspiration bike bike I plan to combine my favorite things from other bikes I have built. Here is how I brought her home last weekend

Re: Cl360 "vader"

I hated taking apart a bike that has been so well cared for cosmetically but I plan to sell, give, or trade all the take offs.

Down to the frame on friday and painted

Take offs, incredible condition, make me an offer, trade, etc

Bare metal and black... my favorite, also my first shot at a pinstripe. Rust inhibitor on bare metal 2k spray bomb for clear coat.

Re: Cl360 "vader"

Found some pits in one of the cylinders. Honed as good as I could but don't know if it is going to work. Anyone have cylinders in good condition.

Time to stop
Completely sliced both pointer fingers trying to remove a gasket with a razor blade..... Went right through the gloves and looked like a murder scene. I guess I will have to wait a week to finish what I started

They are definitely mean! They are kenda.... K270 is the number I think. Dual sport but definitely leaning toward the dirt side of a dual sport. I am currently trying to get the jugs back on and am having some trouble. I have tried pistons in jugs first and it is not working like it does on YouTube. Ha

Re: Cl360 "vader"

Look what came in today... I know stacks with mud tires...... Mud in the carb... What is the logic? Well, I will never take this thing on dirt, It is safe to say I just like the look and not the functionality. I love knobby tires and I love stacks and I also love bare metal on black. It's my bike and I will love it.

Re: Cl360 "vader"

I just honed them and am hoping I will not have to bore them or replace them. The pits were at the bottom of the compression stroke. And barely noticeable with a fingernail. I really really don't want to do it again. We will see.

So far it looks really good. So glad to see you sticking with the traditional, clean, aesthetically perfect front drum. Too many builders switching the classic front ends out for a disc version.

If it's cheap enough, and can be adapted to an ancient 250 CL sloper engine chassis, I could use the center stand. My CL was turned into a TT bike in the late 60s or early 70s, and the side stand looks like dirty ass compared to using a center stand. Very slow bring it back from the grave project, engine locked up with 10 hours on the rebuild (improperly stored before I got it).

Your bike looks nice and mean how you have it set up. Mine looks like a cop bike, dark hunter green and cream, it just screams "sheriff's department"... I think I'll "have" to order a couple replica Texas Ranger badges to use as tank badges...

Re: Cl360 "vader"

That's cool. I used to have an iron head sportster with a cop tank badge. It was awesome. I'll attach a pic of the center stand so you can see how I chopped it off. I would send it for the cost of shipping. It is a clean cut but would need a strong weld to secure it. I really debated whether or not to cut it but decided I wanted all excess weight off. I swear I put her on a 150lb diet. I want to weigh all the take offs because there were a lot.

Nice work. I also love bare metal and black. In fact my new car has the same color scheme as my bike.

You could always add some kind of splash guard to keep mud or dirt from getting into the stacks. I'm thinking some kind of tough looking flat aluminum plate suspended in the frame in front of the back tire.

Love the build so far, looking to go that same direction when I do finally source a bike to start on.

On another note, what kit you playing in the background?

Might want to pull the screens from those stacks. They're in the worst possible location. If you want to screen the stacks, the screens should go on the outside of the bellmouth. Something from these guys will do the trick:

Good call does it trap dirt better or is it a better air flow?

Re: Cl360 "vader"

The reason for the name vader. That's exactly what I will see when I fill up

Definitely better air flow. Potentially better filtering (depending on the filter chosen).

In either case, if you plan on taking this thing offroad, stacks are a questionable decision. Under "normal" road use with stacks, you'll be looking at engine rebuilds every 5K-7K miles depending on which seasons you ride and such... Offorad, much more often... maybe every few hundred miles, even?

its a pearl prestige select. It's an older kit but it sounds great. Love to sit in the garage and jam
