Re: DEET MB5 - Speedo Mockup

:) no problem. Yeah, 350 speedo cable fits and seems to work fine. Will be a bit long but will work if you have no other option.

Re: DEET MB5 - Few Parts

Got a nice treat in the mail last week, a rear brake switch spring. They're no longer available from the dealer but intrudin was able to get new ones from Europe. Nice find Jim, and a big thank you! One less thing to worry about finding.

Also, got a few other parts. New drag bar, tubes, front brake pads, and a rear tire. Unfortunately the dealer wasn't able to get me a new kick starter spring, so I'll just use the current one for now. The front tire is backordered and won't be here until mid-March at the earliest :( They are Michelin M62 Gazelles, here's a pic next to the rear on my SFV ;D Bars will probably have to be shortened a bit but I'll wait until everything is up and running and I can take it for a spin.

Dealer wasn't able to get a 110 carb jet either. I did get a 112 though. May try my hand at drilling out the stock one.

Re: DEET MB5 - Few Parts

Other than the parts, I haven't done much with the bike in the last week or so as I'm trying to get my SFV cleaned up and ready to go at the first sign of good weather. Hope to be back at DEET in a few days.

Re: DEET MB5 - Few Parts

any updates?? Im in the UK at the moment its 19c lots a bikes out 8)

Are you still looking for main jets??

Re: DEET MB5 - Few Parts

Sadly no updates. Had to spend some time on one of my other bikes to get it ready for spring and now I'm helping my son with a school project that is taking a lot of time. Will be back at it soon though, may try to squeeze some time today to mount the rear tire. Actually still waiting on my back-ordered rear tire.

I drilled out the stock main jet a bit (~107) but I don't think that's going to cut it. I'll be starting with the 112 when I get it going to see how that is and go from there. If it needs to go lower and the drilled jet is no good I'll look into finding a 110 then.

No where close to 19C here,-4 here this morning. :(

Re: DEET MB5 - Few Parts

Oil pump block off plate available from tzracerATgmailDOTcom for $25 CAD. Anodized with hardware... clear or black. Just thought some would be interested. Located in Niagara Falls area. Not me!

Thanks doubleJ. I'm going to be running the stock pump for now, but will keep this in mind in case I need it in the future.

Smart move Jim. I certainly will, thanks for the very kind offer. I'd really hope to get it up and running by late May early June, so I'll know then what kind of jet I need. Thank you.

I've been slack with the bike lately but got back at it today. Got the rear tire mounted, hopefully get it installed tomorrow. Was nice to get back at it.

Re: DEET MB5 - Few Parts

Jim are you using the OEM carb with a 105. do you want to sell a 110 and a 112.5? Let me know as I will probably be using the OEM carb to start with then eventually changing it out if all goes well.

Re: DEET MB5 - Unicycle

Finally getting back at it. I mounted rear tire and installed the wheel. Still waiting on the front tire though, dealer said its backordered and won't be here until May. :(

Starting to look like a bike.

Re: DEET MB5 - Few Parts

Also, fixed the bit of damage on the clutch cover. As you can see in the pics there were a number of dents and such on the cover, but the two main issues were a sizable dent that actually can be seen on the inside as a crack. I don't believe it leaked but wanted to fix it while I had it apart. Also, part of the facing was damage and 'repaired' by the PO, unlike the other dent this damage did leak though. The repair done by the PO wasn't very good though so I used some JB Weld to smooth it out. Shouldn't leak now, I'm hoping.

Re: DEET MB5 - Unicycle

Also, got some time to cut the holes for the tail lights. Only have basic tools but was quite pleased with the circles I made :)

First created a template in Photoshop, cut out the holes and taped to back of bike.

Light spray of black paint to indicate where to cut

Like I said, basic tools. Drilled out a circle then cleaned it up with a dremel. Took quite a bit of time but came out good.

Pic of lights laid in the holes to get an idea on what it will look like.

Re: DEET MB5 - Tail Lights

Love that seat platform. Are the lights going to be LED? Case looks like it will be fine. I also got the 5 up on its feet today! Picking up the oil block off plate Thursday, anybody else want one for 25 bucks.

Re: DEET MB5 - Tail Lights
