Hey no worries, there plenty of time - Sept. 1st is the deadline. But the sooner the better, it helps me work out the layout of the book.
 
well hell then wiht any luck i will have my cafe and the bobber done by then! My brother wants to ride the bobber by his b day he said... sept 8th... all the motor work and frame work is done... i just need to powder and put it back together... so should go pretty fast (that is what they always say... and hit every bump in the road possible!)

Well it is incorrect!!! I am NOT a contributer to cafe Racer mag, he ripped me off and I gave no permission, he is a weasel and many have emailed me to tell me the same.
Thats why i am starting my own magazine, I had called it cafe racer magazine 5 years ago and he Frigging nicked it.
he isnt even into cafe stuff, he is just a user, he did a chopper and stunt bike book and them guys emailed me to say look out as he will use you.

I have an Attorney involved now.


But I am building a huge list of subscribers for cafe Racer gazette a bi-monthly mag that caters for all of us and I wont nick HIS crappy stuff, the guy is a WANKER and you can quote me on it anytime guys.

carpy - just wanted to make sure we're all on the same page (pun intended). The posts in this thread are about one of the members here putting together a book. You're talking about the Cafe Racer Magazine put together by Mike Seate?

Just paging through it now, and see he's also got a 160p book for sale, with you on the cover. This is being done without your involvement?

A quick Amazon search turns up a couple pages of books he's put together over the last 9 years, covering sport bikes, motorcycle movies, choppers, cafe racers etc.
 
Whoa! That's crazy. I would comment more...but even though I paid for my mag subscription 4 months ago, I haven't gotten a single issue. Or email reply. Or return phone call.
 
I have to re-confirm if I subscribed or not. I ordered the back issues and have received them all, but think I was going to wait to see if I liked it before subscribing. Honestly, it looks pretty good and Mike Seate seems to know what he's talking about, in this and it would seem in just about any other genre of motorcycling given his past writings.

Steve - I hope you get things sorted out with Mike. I see you're listed as a Contributor in the masthead of the Fall 2008 issue, and your bikes are certainly featured throughout.

Obvioulsy it is up to you to make your own minds up and thats fair enough.

Looks like we shall have a nice punch up when we meet, although he had a Black eye at the New York show, I need to buy someone a drink.

I gave NO permission for me to be on the cover, look in the book, he does not mention me on the cover, he used al sorts of pics and got them all wrong on the info.
Sorry guys, I am generally a cool guy and love all motorcycles, but when a wanker tries to make out what he isnt, i am not happy and he is making MONEY off my images. simple as that guys.
The poor Photographer is now at the attornys too, as he got no recognition and is after 5 grand now.

He sent me a threatning letter saying I cant publish my mag, who the hell does he think he is.?


There are 100's of Motorcycle mags and hardly any cafe stuff so there is room for coffe books etc.
infact there is a boo out in germany right now.
called cafe racers I have seen it and gave permission to be in it.
Same as being in BSH this month with my Supercharged Cafe.

I will of course support any literature on cafe racers, especially on this forum. but not that other guy who is living off other peoples names. he has many with attorneys involved now.
Just be careful.
he warned me NOT to go to any shows if he has bikes there. he said if i went to NY i would not be welcome.
Weird, as I had my own booth there.
Hate to sound like a C*&t but this guy has really gone too far.

I am a MOTORCYCLE builder and was a Proffesional Motorcycle dispatch rider for over 25 years, I am not a pen pusher and never pretended to be, i am starting a magazine that will reflect all of us and involve ALL of you, Kudos to all in my opinion.


But get the Coffee book going, I am all up for that gang.

Just to clear it up a bit, I want to put it out there that this book will not be published in the terms of actual publishing for retail sales. It is merely a book of the builds exclusive to the members and their bikes of this forum and will be available to only DTT members. The only bikes that will be in it are those submitted by members with their permission. I no way intend to infringe on any other publication or rip off anyones work. This is a members only private project. If there are any questions about the DTT book, please do not hesitate to ask. I am sorry to hear of your troubles Steve. I hope all works out for you as you are deserving of better. -MBS

Well I think a book will be Bloody brilliant mate, I love all Motorcycles but obvioulsy Cafe Racers are my life, and, any book I love.
Seate is a wanker, but his magazine is good.

I think a book will be really cool to have in my collection and many more that come out, we need more books and see whats going on in the states and all over the globe.
I am always willing to help. Maybe thats why I got taken advantage of? Who knows, but one bad Apple doesn't always bugger up the cart, I am hoping that this book will get completed and we can see REAL people of today who are in their garages turning wrenches.

I may have got a well known name in this field, but I am still the same bloody guy.

I will never change and am too old in the tooth to anyway.
So, I want to see this book and loads of others out there come out.
good luck and let me know if there is anything I can do.
You lot are WHAT I have always been about.
So fly the CAFE RACER flag.
