Doing it wrong on EBay

I think it's kind of like those over-the-top craigslist people. "Selling my soul for $1000" "Selling my imaginary sword in WoW for $10k". Stuff like that. He knows damn well it's not worth anywhere near his asking price, he just wants the attention. But it sure is funny to hear the responses he's putting out.

"I'm wondering why your asking price is $2k higher than the actual value of the bike? I mean, I'm all for someone seeking internet fame by doing ridiculous stuff, but if you had started this whole sham at a price closer to, say, 2500, it would have been much more believable. Also, I know for a fact that more people have started "watching" this since you last increased the price, so at least keep up your end of the bargain for our amusement."

He has done some work (original colour repaint, correct seat, etc)
Probably been looking at some of the overpriced cafe's with very little work done to them?
Also, in Florida, anything that runs and has title is worth $1000.00+
My also have seen the $25,000 K0 a couple of years ago.
Personally, I'm thinking it isn't a totally unreasonable price for a not bad looking bike? (bunch of cheapasses on here )

The 25k K0 was one thing, a mid year, nothing special K model is worth 2-3k, with absolutely perfect specimens in museum quality pulling about 4k (here in Florida) There is absolutely nothing about that bike that says 5500.

Also, after he submits so many "Blocked Bidders", eBay will have no choice but to investigate why. Then they'll see the listing, and realize it was the seller, not the bidders, who was the problem.

Ok I can see 25k for that...20k for this with repainted tank, 18k miles...has to be someone punking him...

Or he is bidding himself up to validate himself bc he has taken so much flak...I will eat my words and send him an apology if this thing actually sells at that price.

Well that would be a $20k bike then....

I dont know what the market is where the seller is from, but in NYC I dont see why a clean bike with new paint and nice pipes wouldnt bring $5k.
The days of SOHC Cb750s being a grand are over, at least it is by me.
While "enthusiasts" want to talk about how they can get bikes in barns and for $30 get them on the road and all that, its not the real world nor the market of ebay.
We are cheap, but others are not.

All that said, its a terrible listing and offers no real info or good pictures to help and make the case that the bike is worth the money.
And the seller is just turning people off that might actually buy the bike.

Hell maybe its just a new form of troll and all of you are falling for the gag?

I have seen these around town and they look really uncomfortable but they have about 6 of them that they ride and they seem to have a good time on them to each their own.

At least a stock bike can be called a collector and understood why someone would want it.
A shitty custom isnt really worth the metal and bondo its made out of....

But again not to defend the asshat seller of the CB750, the market is strong for ORIGINAL bikes
Repainting really takes away from that to most collectors, even if its the same color.
Personally I hate when people list bikes as factory, but fail to list that the 4-4 pipes($1500) are missing as is the air box and other big ticket items

This guy thinks he hit the jackpot based on what he has seen sandcasts and K0s sell for
But doesnt realize that the buyer that would pay the big bucks is also going to know all of the parts that are missing or wrong on this bike.
Yes its an early bike and has value, but its important to compare apples to apples. Often thats extremely hard in the collector or used market
