You need to remove "DONE" from your sig then! ;) :D I "hear" you're back at it? Did you decide to go ahead with the custom wiring harness on the Sock Monkey? :(

Re: KZ-ZXR

Think Big Rich takes me out of it for now . Him and Brad gave me a few ideas to look into befor I do that !

Hey CK!! Yup, it's a beauty! Your gonna love it!

As long as it's installed properly, it will take all cornering loads and any amount of HP my OR your engine will ever be able to throw at it! :D The next step is shocks and springs of course! Then match the front suspension to the rear, brace the frame for flex, and so on, and so on... ;D

It really never ends, does it?! ;) :D

The JMC actually came off of a local 1981 CBX so I knew it would fit.
Here is the front. I haven't posted pics of my Version 2.0 of my bike yet.
2003 GSX1300R Hayabusa Front.....

Re: KZ-ZXR

Wow!! Sounds pretty darn cool! You'd better get some pics up bud! ;) ;D

Re: KZ-ZXR

Well, we finally completed those small changes. :D

BS34's and the carbon fender. Ran it on the dyno to do the fine tuning on the carbs and it runs great! :D Instant throttle response and a respectable 80 hp, considering it's internally stock. :) I'm happy. For now. ;)

Re: KZ-ZXR

Thanks Rob. :D I'm fortunate to have a couple of bikes to choose from, but that one's my favorite! :D

You take great pics pal! I love that group shot! Two kz650's and the 1000. We won't mention the H**das with us. ;) ;D

Re: KZ-ZXR

Gonna dress the KZ-ZXR in some new duds! ;D

More to come on this.

Of course, it's not going to be a simple as I envisioned it would be. :p

Stand by...

Rootbeer and Orange...classic look

Yup, it's the one that stole my heart all those years ago! ;D

If I can't have an actual original z1, I can at least have the paint! ;)

Re: KZ-ZXR

Had to 'trim' the heck outta the tail, tailight bracket and the license plate to make this work. :D

More work to do. :)

Re: KZ-ZXR

The Z1 used to be a dime a dozen in my area, had one myself when I was 16 but didn't want it cause it wasn't cool enough at the time...young and stupid

I've always loved that model Suzuki! :) Clean, sharp lines. 8)

Re: KZ-ZXR

Here's a dirty pic to get an idea about what we're aiming for in the end.

Still lots of detail work to make everything work properly and fit 'right'. The most extensive work will be on the side covers. A bunch of trimming will need to be performed on them.

That's one of the challenges with a resto-mod. Lots of non-standard items that cause standard items to not fit without extra work. :p It's been a while since this Project first hit the street. I forgot about some of the tweeks we performed on the original!

I'll do my best to chronicle the process. :)
