Re: My First Build. 1971 cb350 *Exhaust Clearance Issues*
Love the look of your bike. Reminds me a bit of an old BSA Goldie. Very sweet. I don't think i'd be too concerned about the dents in the mufflers restricting flow. I haven't been through the rest of your thread, but if the motor is pretty much standard and doesn't rely on a free flowing intake & exhaust, it won't make much difference. Good luck, well done once again.

I don't have the compression numbers but I will likely be picking up a compression tester this weekend and will post em when I know. The coils are not switched.

Got it started! And it runs great, just a tad bit lean but nothing a little jetting can't fix.
The issue was that I installed the spark advancer backwards so it ended up sparking on the wrong stroke. Feel like a dumbass hahah. I'll upload some videos soon
Thanks bud. I still have a bunch of odds and ends to finish but its rideable so I'm super happy with it.
I've developed a decent oil leak from a rocker pin o-ring so I'm going to have to replace it soon. In the process of shortening my new front brake cable, need to finish wiring it up, brake light switch, waiting on my battery(currently have the stock batter bungied on the back haha), the rear sets still hit but I'm researching where I can get the materials I need for some custom pipes.
Sorry for the lack of updates in the past weeks. Vacation and riding it instead of finishing it have gotten in the way haha. I got my battery in so I'm currently rewiring the whole thing today and if all goes right I'll get some pics and video up of it with the seat on. I'm still figuring out my exhaust clearance but I think I've settled on just fabbing up a custom exhaust but that might be a month or two down the line when I can afford it, for now I'm just riding it with the shifter and break lever adjusted a bit high.
