I have a relatively simple solution to your front-end clearence problems (probably cost you about a hun-ski): install a set of first generation ZX9R forks (I think 94 - 97, maybe?) ...anyway, the inverted forks from the first gen ZX9 are 2.75" longer than the ZX7R forks, all other details are the same...*poof!*, problem solved. ;D
Oh, and did you rotate your rear-axle to the bottom position in the eccentric adjuster?...that helps, too...and it quickens the steering just a tad, but if you 'push' your bike, you will notice it.
