Tim - I haven't called JR Duffy or any of the brokers who gave my those 3500 quotes back yet. I'm going to match my situation to those of two others who both started riding in the last 2 or 3 years at about 1200 - 1400 a year and see what the differences are, if any.
Generally, they say its something to do with age or inexperience. Each place seems to have a slightly different policy that's dependent on age, number of years with a license, or number of years previously insured. Either way, I usually fit into them because I'm a young new rider with 0 experience.
I had a few traffic tickets in the early years of having my license but all we're fought to remove points and wouldn't fall within the last 3 years anyways.
The way it looks, the family plan is my best bet but I am for sure going to seek out whatever it is that's making my other quotes so high.
PS, Yeah, all my quotes have been for liability only.
