Engine parts are supposed to be done today! so thats my final bore and piston fitment and my 5 angle valve job and valve retainer work. I had to get new valves because the engine shop said it was best vs refacing my existing ones so that slowed me down a couple weeks.
I got the r1 coils in and the gxr fender so I don't have to build one right away. Im hoping to get some painting done this weekend to get this bike moving along. My tracker is so fun I cant wait until this bike is ridable.
That`s what i meant. Just was thinking about all these beautifull parts inside an engine......so much work put into it, and never(?) to be seen again, it`s a pity!
Fak. The piston rings are the wrong size. They are sending me new ones but i tell ya anything to do with this engine build has been a painful experience of constant lateness and waiting and problems.
Doing a custom bike is one thing but doing a custom engine with a custom bike is too annoying. Lessons learned.
Oh just that the time in getting the custom pistons, and engine work and shipping of core cams, etc, etc. I had to go through two engine shops cause on never did my work. Just all that time plus building a bike is a lot to take on.
The rings were the wrong size.. I gave him the new rings on saturday.
So the replacement rings came in but the Oil rings are wrong.. fak. Second my titanium springs are not matching shim specs. They are too low according to the provided spec and my engine guybis racking up the hours.. which means racking up the $$$..
The worlds fastest virago is now turning the worlds most expensive virago..
I do have one salvation. The engine builder knows what hes doing. It has to exactly in spec before he gives it back to me.
