Introduce yrself, bikes, projects, whatever.

And a lot of frustration, I think. Never done an engine before...
Now that I got the photo posting bizzo sorted, time to start a build thread...

Hey guy's just a quick intro i live in Adelaide and have decided to have a go at turning a 1982 DT 175 Yamaha into a Caf'e racer ...i am 3/4 finished with my "XS1100 fighter" with mono shock conversion

so i had the chance to purchase with a mate 5 x DT 175's for $500.00 3 0f them run the others are not running

so here is the DT so far still playing with the seat/tail combo and the tank is off a Kawasaki Z250 that i dished in as it had a few dents along the sides

G'day,

I'm Beau and I'm originally from Montrose, VIC, but since joining the Army i have spent the last 2 and a bit years in Canberra. About a month ago I picked up my first bike, its a 1978 Honda XL250s. So far I have pulled it right down and I am currently stuck with a stubborn cylinder head bolt, so I am waiting for pay day to come so I can buy some tools to get her off. The inspirations for my bike build come from the icon/Ural quartermaster, left handed cycles 82' cb750 and Hammarhead's jack pine so I am going for a military style scrambler/brat tracker. Once I start making some real progress I will post a thread.

Hi all,
I'm Ted from a little country town in Victoria.
Been a member on this forum for a while and didn't sroll down far enough to know there was an Aussie section.
Already posted pics of my build here http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=53250.0
This is my first project bike, built from a bit of a wreck.
Bought a GPZ250 for a parts bike, mainly for twin discs and a cdi engine.
Still a few things to do to it....... finish the seat, build a swingarm brace, pull down the engine to fit new gaskets and detail it, powdercoat and paint.
I'm planning on Lime Green paint with a white stripe through the middle............still undecided on gold wheels or black though.
Cheers

G'day Ted,

I have been watching your build, it looks great so far!

Look forward to the finished product

Cheers,

Welcome Ted, looks like you have done a fair bit of work on that GPZ. Nice stuff mate.

Thanks guys, been a bit of a job but worth the effort so far.
I'll post more pics soon showing more of the build and a couple of my sons street fighter vtr250 project.
Cheers

As promised.......some pics of my sons bike.
A 2006 vtr250 than was dropped at 60klm/h, taking out the levers, headlight, gauges, tank, seat and twisted the rear sub frame.
Only has 3800 k's on it.
So far we've replaced the tank, shortened the rear subrame to make it a true single seat.
Cheers

hiya damian, i used to have a couple of those things, they never did get on the road, smoking my own weight in pot was more important in those days.......good luck with it though, should be fun

i'm from melb too, though the complete opposite end (reservoir), a few of my mates live out your way (the Basin, FTG etc)

by the way, it must be awful noisy living in the middle of that intersection....LOL

see you on the road (look out for a Vmax with a bad paintjob)

spotty

hi, here is a pic of my 69 cb350 i finished about 2 months ago.
