It all Started here:: My SkyTeam Ace story

7" Headlamp fitted

The ballast for the HID is fitted under the tail of the tank down by the starter relay

Originally I was going to relocate the Acewell instrument pod but now I don't think I will.

Found a good use for the original handlebar mounting point. Fit a couple of RamBall mounts so I can use the GoPro & SatNag if I so choose 8)

Top marks to the guys at Acewell.

Developed 2 faults today, mailed them and had a response within hours. Not bad considering it's Sunday

Hi Mike,
Sorry to hear that the unit has a fault.
If you could send it back, I'll check (and repłace if necessary) the sealing o-ring and alignment of the needle to back panel (to ensure there is no interference).
It's possible that the back panel has come loose and is not behind the clip which keeps it away from the needle.
After reassembly I will apply a new film of silicone sealant to the o-ring to improve the waterproof seal.

Is the digital rpm jittery or always off by a fixed percentage?
I can check this too against my frequency generator.

I'll try to get it fixed and back in the post within 24 hours.

Alternatively, before doing this you could take the unit into a warm room, unscrew the top ring, check alignment of the back panel (in the centre next to the needle pivot) and sealing ring. A coulple of hours in an airing cupboard or on top of a radiator would remove any moisture before reassembly.

If this solves the problem then great, if not you could send it to me after trying yourself.

I hope this will be ok. Please let me know.
Best Regards
Craig

Hi Guys

afraid to say I have to report 2 issues with this item already that may or may not be linked

1) Condensation forming inside the instrument
2) Analogue Tacho not working at all. Either sticks on 2k or 0k after doing startup sweep, Digital works but readings seem erroneous. Wiring has been checked on the bike

Hi Mike, Thanks for your reply to my email. As you can now see I have joined DTT. I will post some photos of my Ace when the weather gets better and I can get it out of the garage. Like most Ace's they are just big toys. Cheers, Tad.
