Long awaited CB200 Build

The adjustable just refers to being able to position the vent tube to suit your set up.

What size are the carbs bored to now?

The carbs internals haven’t been touched - I bought new carbs (PE22’s) as the originals didn’t have enough metal for boring out.

So the engine work is all finished - head and carbs were the final bits. Engine specialist has done a superb job machining the carbs, some pics below. More to follow at the weekend.

I’m just waiting for a couple of these to arrive to go over the hoses:

This is epic. What a awesome build. Did you find any other callipers that may have suited front mount?

You mean the front brake caliper? Nope, I designed the bracket to fit the caliper so I didn’t look at any other calipers once I picked that one.

Almost there with the engine, just got these blasted as I forgot initially.
Sorry for the bad quality engine photo, poor lighting.

What carbs are you using?
Are you painting the journals black too?

Build is looking good.

Thanks

They are PE22’s. Which don’t fit around my frame of course.

I’m not sure those are called journals are they? You may be right! In any case yes they’ll be painted but I’m not sure about their covers, or the clutch and rotor covers which I’ve left as they were for now while I decide.

The bores inside (with the oil groove) are the bearing surface for the cam, hope they didn’t get too bead blasted.

Make sure they are really clean, particularly the oilways. That glass bead gets in everywhere and, well you know how hard glass is....

Thanks - will do. I get stuff vapour blasted. It’s a finer finish. Although you still get metal dust and potentially some leftover over media which needs a good clean up as you say.

Been quiet a while, busy moving house etc. Anyway, pleased to say I finally got the engine into the bike. Looks like a bike!
