After the shake and a blast of air you can see light. Through it pretty good. Now I got 2 fucked up float bowl threads and will have to retap

All 4 carbs are clean, compressed aired out and re-assembled. Hope they are good. I know I had 3 out of 4 air jets plugged solid and orings that fell to bits so it was long overdue.

Hope it fires as nice as this last one did for me! Just expect a long crank time until the bowls fill and it fires up. Your brass look real good.

Thanks, I watched your vid, must have felt good. The first crank in spring is always a long one. I drain the bowls in the fall. Here they are almost all back together.

Gives a chance to clean off the top of the engine, too. How does all of that stuff get back there past the radiator and "shroud"?

Big difference already. I had to use two cans of Gunk foamy engine cleaner followed by Scrubbin' Bubbles (Dow bathroom cleaner). Then cotton shop towell wrapped around a sharpened piece of wood to dig into the fins on the bottom. I was getting it ready to paint, though. Once assembled, it really does make a difference. I did like you on the '79 last summer, and it looks so much better.

Yep, I'll clean it up as best I can without going too nuts, this bike isn't a show bike it gets ridden hard all season in all weather, it will be filthy again the first time I get caught out in bad weather.

I got some of that but I can't use it in the basement. I'd get shot. I'll hit the lower half with that outside later in the spring when I can hose it off after etc. It is good stuff for de-greasing engines.
