Re: Modern cafe, "Project Kool-Aid": Christine ain't no fat chick!
Stupid poser-eagle...
It was a great afternoon of bike-related events, in which Chris and I rode the crap out of everything in my garage. Saw a runaway fire that led to some house evacuations, and yes, even interrupted the space/time contiuum:
The best part was to get out for first real shakedown of Christine, albeit without NO. The fastest indicated I saw today was something over 125, just past Chris in the vid, so we didn't really open it all the way up, but got a little speed anyway. It is running great, and the tank allows a pretty good range of movement. I am really happy with how this thing is coming out (remember, still have to make a fender and dial the spray).
I'm editing this as of 5/29/12, since I realized I never got Chris's fine photos into this build thread. Here they are:
Thanks to Chris for all his efforts today as well!

This motorcycle will kick your teeth in, pull the teeth out of your mouth, rub them in dirt, shove them back into your bloody/beaten gums, and kick them in again.

What the man says is true!!
I got some good reviews from the local Harley shop guys. They rationalized their favorable take in that it is also a v-twin!
I also got a little more history on the bike, inadvertently. Turns out this cool old British cat that works at HD worked at the Honda shop when this bike was sold new to the original owner. I guess the guy bought it on his credit card to circumvent the insurance requirement. He then let his buddy ride it, who promptly wrecked it and died. The guy then sold the wreck back to the dealer who bodged back together android rit for a few years before selling it to me!
I hope Christine looks more favorably on me...
The British dude was working on a triumph 750 tiger he had just bought, right in the HD shop! He is planning on hard tailing it, and making a speed bobber. Kind of cool to have a foreign ally right at the hd dealership!

Ha, the comments are my favorite as well. It makes me really happy that people either love it or hate it (some both...) but no one is neutral on it. I guess that means that it leaves a mark, eh?
