Re: My CB200 Build - AKA "Incognito" - UPDATE "Merry Christmas!" DEC 25
I have been very busy lately.
I have mounted my seat and attached my turn signals, brake light, and taillight. I mounted my carbs and built a 2 into 1 exhaust.
Electrical UPDATE: I am now almost finished with all of my electrical wiring. Everything has been working without a hitch every since the installation. First times the charm I guess. I have noticed a significant increase in the strength of my spark. Overall, updating the electrical was one of the best judgement calls I have made. The only thing left to wire up is my back left turn indicator.
Carb UPDATE: I did some minor cleaning on my carbs for now. Since I wanted to see if the bike would start, the first thing I did was adjust my carbs. I set the float heights, adjusted the air/mixture screw, threw on some temporary filters and mounted them on the bike. Some of the problems I had prior disappeared once I corrected some minor issues with my floats. My floats were mildly contorted so that they were not perfectly level. This has caused many a headache and been finally figured out as of now.
2-1 Exhaust UPDATE: It was ALOT of work. Because I do not have my own welder, I ended up running my exhaust back and forth from my shop to a shop about 5 miles away. 4 trips later and I was finished. Most of my woes stemmed from alignment of the headers. In addition, one of the main obstacles and the main reason I decided to modify my exhaust was because my rear sets no longer cleared the exhaust. Start to finish, the exhaust project took roughly 10 hours of work.
Feeling a invigorated, I decided to run a fuel IV and attempt to start my bike. She started on the first attempt. Running strong and sounding great! Hoping to have her road worthy come snow melt this spring.
Main tasks left include but not limited to, finishing the tank painting, sandblasting and painting the rims, upholstering the seat, and clear coating the tank and seat.
