Ok Officially the coolest Goldwing I have seen

Still sick as ever dude, and I think you're fine on your suspension....be warned though, no matter how nice and stiff the suspension seems in the shop, it is spongy on the road. I dinged my rear fender because of that. Ouch.

Great build man.

you mean you made a areo dynamic adjustment to it... we do not dent or ding around here, we make "adjustements"

LOL! Hell yes, that is correct Joe. It now has character!

KMR: question for you....since you've converted the mono out back, do you have any plans to abbreviate the subframe or perhaps convert to a nice svelte bolt on aluminum unit? T'would be the bees knees (to quote Joe)....

Good point, I'm sure I'll still end up with a few "adjustments" myself though. :-\
But, that's why I just put this in there instead:

A few new photos posted in the other thread as well.

Are you talking about the swing arm?
No plans to change that out, keep in mind that it's a shaft drive as well, so the swing arm is part of the drive.

Not he swing arm but he subframe...where the seat sits. Since you no longer have to worry about the shock mounts and the stresses they add, a lighter subframe(seat frame) could be added. Or are you planning to be stealthy?

Oh right, subframe, like on a dirt bike, :p some reason I didn't make the connection.

But anyway, I plan to leave it.
One of the reasons I did the project is that the Wing frame combines two lines that I lean towards, a flat line from head tube to back of seat and a general hoop rear end. Did some playing around with loosing the whole back end and just cantilevering the seat out (very cool and very tempting) but I like the frame the way it is.

holy hell do i love this bike...

Great lookin scoot. One of my riding buddies has a very old 1200 Wing with 160,000 miles on it.It ate a valve once but othere than that trouble free. Has original clutch in it.Those damn things must be bullet proof.bj

I've been mostly lurking and enjoying your forum, haven't put up any updates in awhile.
Chronicled in detail here:

A few of the good new bits:

It's now legal, but the motor needs a bit more sorting, valves, and I had to loose the cool looking tires for some cool working ones.

The carbs seem great, very nice response from them and the linkage is working well.
Unfortunately the #4 cylinder has a leaky exhaust valve, so low compression on that cylinder puts the whole thing a little off.
Need to lap all the valves in I guess, the good thing is that they are so damn easy to get to on this ride, hardly have to remove anything.

id ride that bitch as a dual sport!

sick ride =D
That's the plan!
Poor-mans-BMWGS. ;D
The carbs are a bit of a hindrance here though, I've removed so much weight from the back and changed the riding position so much that you want to scoot much further forward that on a stock version. With a dual-sport riding posture the carbs end up being in the same real estate that my knees want to occupy. Considering options now, the set up is working great, but I might want to give a set of stock carbs a shot.

AWESOME!!! Id love to see ya do a cool maybe Honda XL style paintjob on the tank. Kinda stick with the dual-sport idea, and would be easy as pie... Just a thought. Really badass either way. So cool.

That would be sweet, I dig the old Honda graphics.
I saved a template of the pin stripes that were on the 750 tank before I had to mess with it, thinking about duplicating them with some copper colored stripes to tie in the forks.
For now it's just black, and I haven't decided to reference Honda or not, right now it's next to impossible to tell what it is at a glance, but the "what the hell is that" questions are already getting old. :p
