p90x week 1 done

I did it last year and it worked great. I work too much so I don't have too much free time. I work at night and have a business during the day. We've been real busy for the last few months. I'm going to start up soon as business slows down. I'm at my heaviest ever and need to drop 15lbs by the summer.

I hear that the whole 13 dvd set including manuals and meal plan are available from most torrent sites. Just sayin!

I took up cycling last year and it did amzing things for my energy and feel, but my upper body needs some serious help. I'm hoping to jusmp into this in the next few weeks with my wife and brother in law. I'll keep track of the progress and keep you guys updated.

Here's me after my first round. I replaced the Kenpo Karate day with either surfing or cycling. Wasn't in it to lose weight, but it kicked me into shape. Now I just gotta get my wife to start!

Good results!! Did you follow the diet as well? I am of the scrawny upper body folk (cyclist as well; race mtb's in the summer). Any tips??

Honestly, I didn't follow the diet to a T, but I used it to modify my already pretty good eating habits. The one major modification was a much more substantial breakfast of oatmeal, fruit, and a protein shake every morning. I also supplemented with a performance minded mens multivitamin and high protein shakes. Just cut out sugar, juice drinks, sodas. Drink vodka club soda instead of jack and coke, eat fruit instead of cookies, you'll be good to go!

My wife knocked it out and her only complaint was the cardio not being sufficient. I tried it for a few days...couldn't make the time commitment. Stick with it man!

"If you need to take a break..take one!"

Well said!

I'm a big guy (6'2"/200lb) but before going to university at 17 I was only about 165 pounds... real life stickman haha. Anyway, during university I cooked for myself and wason a pretty tight budget so most meals were high protein and veg with little inbetween other than late night coffee and weekend drinks. I also walked/cycled at least a few miles a day about campus to and from class.

I swear, just by living like that I bulked up from 165 around 200 and kept in shape - the weight is muscle and I'm keeping it that way. Of course, if you want to build serious muscle quickly then you do need to do more intensive weights and other routines... personally I just do a bit of that every now and then and lately the rest is cardio. A few weeks ago I thought a gym machine was broken because it said I was sustaining a heart rate of 200... turns out it was working fine! It really is surprising how fast you can get into good shape if you commit to it.

Cheers - boingk

ha ha ha fatty fatty 2x4 can not fit thought the bedroom door... i started out so strong... my best friend saw the results and begged for the DVD's so he could make his own... 8 weeks later i got them back... by that time our powder busn was in full swing in the busy season... we have done 5x's the reveneue we did last year... so as you can imagine i hardley have time to sleep... yes 100 excuses, bottom line is i did not finish, but i am getting ready to start it again next month when we can get some breathing rooom from the shop. I saved all the disks to my PS3 now so i have no excuse... still lame move on my buddies part stealing them for so long

I did 1.5 times through. I had to stop because I had put my body into some sort of shock and gotten shingles.

It worked great, I did the regular p90 routine and rode 30km/day on my bicycle. I ended up dropping from around 190lbs to 160ish, 33-31" waist. I felt great, had enormous amounts of energy, but looked anemic.

I didn't keep it up and have put back on about 10lbs.

Heh...it's tough to get back into it huh? I figure I'll print out some 24x36 photos of myself shirtless and hang them in the apartment to motivate myself...hehe

P90X is amazing. If you're a lifting type, it'll give you a serious run for your money. And Tony Horton gets pretty hilarious when you know when all his bad jokes are coming.

Ab Ripper X, that's the one to beat. Worst/best 16 minutes of my week. But even the yoga one, which would usually be like an easy day or rest day routine, is as hard to complete as all the others.

If you get past that, or want a change from it, check out Insanity, you can buy it or find a to...[tally legitimate, reasonably priced licensed copy for sale o]...rrent easily online, their "Insane Abs" is a few steps harder.

Dude, you should make this like a build thread and post before and after pictures of your mods, haha.

Just wanted to put it out there that if anyone is interested, I actually have electronic copies of all the routines (Chest and Back, Plyometrics, Shoulders and Arms, Yoga x, Legs and Back, Kenpo X, X Stretch, Core Synergistics, Chest, Shoulders and Triceps, Back and Biceps, Cardio X, and Ab Ripper X) as well as the nutrition guide and all the stuff that would normally come with the set. I typically just watched it on the laptop, but it can probably be burned to DVD or just run off a TV if you've got the fancy-hook up. Haha. The files are kinda big... (I don't recall the size of each off the top of my head, but lemme know if you're interested and I can try to find a way to get it to you!)

You betcha! PM inbound.....

I'll take you up on that offer

Not trying to be "that guy"... But for your own sakes, it's really not the best idea to encourage pirating on an open forum during this day and age, its gotten people into some serious shit.

There has been a bit of an epidemic of shingles, so I wouldn't blame that on the P90X. They have even been pushing an immunization lately.
