When carb sync is off they make a LOT more noise, can sound like a big end going out when real bad

Blake.......no mufflers? On the truck? That's gotta be.........subtle.
Oh wait, you're under 30 aren't't you? Rock on then amigo! Enjoy.......
Do the 5-oh leave you be? I ran the little track car on the street for one summer and it was fun but four noise tickets later....it's back to track only.

It wasn't by choice. I bought it used and the one thing I disliked was the noise. The dealer thought it sounded great. I crawled under the truck after I bought it to discover the setup. This new intake solved the problem!

New lid...new to me i should say from c-list.
now all i have to do is get the bike running right.....

1979 DT250. Has tank and seat (seat needs recovering). Cleaned carb last night and when I put all the electrics back on that were in plastic bags..it had spark when I kicked it over! Going to be a fun scoot!

I try to do one small mod a year. New tires, tinted windows, tool box, cold air intake. Next year: Line-X spray-in bed liner, belts & hoses.

Line-X is good stuff. I had the bed done on my Tacoma 5 years ago and it's still rock solid, even with how badly I abuse it.

Maybe one year you could buy some Simple Green and clean under that hood! How does one clean the outside so well, but leave the inside so filthy?

Just bustin ya chops ;) :p

Is Simple Green a green product? If so I'm all over it :). I stopped using engine cleaner years ago because of all the nasty/ harsh chemicals and hazards. If the products have improvedandbecome green I am very interested. The P.O. Of my truck obviously lived on ared Georgia clay road. I was dislodging clumps of clay from the frame for a year.

It's advertised as such...
Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner is the leader of non-toxic, biodegradable, environmentally safer cleaning products used for household cleaning, car cleaning ...

I get a gallon of the stuff at least once every other month, mix in a spray bottle or just slather it all over things.

I have used about every cleaner available at auto parts and general stores and have had the best results with Eagle One A-Z Wheel Cleaner. I would love to be bale to get it in 5 gallon buckets. I can go through 8-10 bottle a month in the spring-fall. It is one of the best degreasers out there.

yz490 is a monster my buddy made a drag bike outta one it would rip your elbows out of socket fuck your other projects bad ass pulles rank

Best cleaner/degreaser I ever used is diesel fuel. As a bonus it will remove some rust and corrosion. Just brush it on with a stiff brush....... let it sit for a little while...... brush more of it on and use brush vigorously to remove softened oil and grime....... then hose it off with simple green , Suzuki cleaner (my favorite), or S100 cycle cleaner. Probably not real green, but it works........
