Just bought this old gem.........the bike, not Rich Ard....couldn't afford him.
1976 Honda TL250 twin shocker. No special plans for it other than take it out to the boys 5 wooded acres and bash around on it. Starts right up in 1 or 2 kicks. Had a Suzuki RL250 back in the days myself.

made a haul today: my new wiring harness from Sparck Moto showed up (thanks Matt! looks amazing!), and we swung by Harbor Freight for some cheap tarps to cover up the patio furniture over the winter, and came home with a new combo belt/disc sander! It seems like decent quality, though I typically insist on US-made goods in general, tools in particular. The hardware is cheap, but the guts of the machine seem solid. It works beautifully. $60 dammit! I also recieved my Tommaselli clip ons in the mail too!
Not shown are some aluminum stock for some brackets and bits for the bike build.

I have that same sander from HF. Been pretty disappointed with it. Doesn't take much pressure for it to stop when sanding something.

....I feel the same way about the HF Buffing machine....

Did you get the 6" buffer or 8" buffer?
I have no issues at all with the 8" HF buffer/grinder, stack couple of 1/2" wheels to make 1" wide, polishing is a lot quicker
Use stitched wheels with emery compound (use brown compo to 'wet' it a little) stack loose wheels for finishing with brown compo (or plexiglass polish)
Bearings are staring to get worn but, it's dona a lot of work, I even use stitched wheels for de-burring stuff

I think it's the 6-incher, 4 inch wide belt. I've only played with it so far, but pressing hard with aluminum or steel it didn't slow down even a little. I'm happy so far...I just hope it holds up. If the motor craps out or it is weak, I've got some 2-horse electric motors I can retrofit :)

6" 3/4 horse I believe ....it seems to stop any time i start pushing...I've been on the look out for a 1 hp buffer but they never come up used around here

it is a little on the weak side desmo. I just came in from fabbing and shaping some aluminum muffler brackets, and when smoothing the long edges of the brackets it would want to die :( I have 2 old air compressor motors my dad gave me...bet they are at least 1.5-3 horse...wonder if I could retro fit one of those??
But for putting a radius on sharp corners and more detailed work, it works good.

Not exactly sure why i got this
