And some bondage.......oops I mean cam belts for the Ducati & Cagiva

Do you know the trick to use the resonant frequency of the belts to set tension? I loaded up a guitar tuner app on my phone and plucked away at the belts on my brother's Monster to set the tension, and damned if it wasn't dead on when I verified it by measuring the belt deflection.

brings a whole new meaning to tuning

But how do you know what the resonant frequency should be?

If I recall, it is 110Hz +-5Hz - Google is how I found it out ;D This is how Ducati dealers set the tension I believe.

Yes I've seen that, pretty neat, like you said I think the dealers do all of them that way now.
I still use the old way, but that is something I have to try someday. It's just that I am comfortable with the way I do them and have never had a problem, old habits are hard
to break.

Hard to do 2000 mile road trips on an RD or similar! And Chris, no gift card, but just as well, no cup holder or reverse gear either

Nice bike Kiley, you have the roads up there to enjoy it on for sure.

I hear that, better to use the way that you know works! To me it seems strangely appropriate that a bike built with so much passion in it should be adjusted like a musical instrument.

Some bling for the "KZ-ZXR" :)

Sometimes, I just have to. :)

Bought some "old junk" too. ;) :D

Already owned the frame, seat, engine, etc. The custom OW31 tail ended up to be so large that I figured I'd look for the largest fuel tank I could get my mitts on to make it look a little smaller. Extra fuel capacity is always a bonus as well! ;D

The tank is off a KZ1000 st shaft drive. Same shape as the MkII, but a little larger. It's a perfect slip-on fit to the 78 KZ1000 frame.

The sub-frame will be hacked off and a new one fabbed to suit the new seat. The seat will be shortened and kicked up "considerably" from what you see here.

Just picked this baby up a few hours ago. 79 KZ650. Near mint. Gonna keep it all stock.

Holy HELL Az, that's gorgeous!

Thanks! She's getting new tires and an oil change right now. I bought her. Went down the road to my bike shop and dropped her off for new tires. I rode the bike not even a quarter mile before loading it up. I'm dying to go ride her. The tires just had to much dry rot on the sides for me to be comfortable going anywhere.

Yeah that's a sweet KZ - I'm not one for chrome but I can see you're doing it justice by keeping it stock sir... there's a lot of love gone into that bike.
