Post a pic of your latest purchase

Thanks to Teazer and Texasstar's recommendation, I bought some CB750 airbox boots to use as velocity stacks on the CB175. They actually fit quite nice! I'll use a pre filter.

cool, how do you clamp a filter to that ?

Thought would be to stick a sock over it. Like take a uni filter, rip the wire out, cut the end off and slide it over all the way to the base. Then zip tie :)

I believe you have to use green ballistic kevlar zip ties.

Yep, free=expensive........ this one was given to me.

What are you doing hanging around here when you move in circles where people give away Ducati's? ???

It probably didn't look like that when you got it, I'd guess. ;) ;D

Free/cheap bikes are the worst.
My 100 dollar sr500 is pushing 2 grand and I built almost every part.

Yep, my carton of beer GS is already at 1500 and it is still in about 5 different spots in the garage.

We see that at the shop all the time. Guys get what they think is a killer deal on a bike and then bring it in to us to get an estimate on what it will take to get it running and rideable. Very few can be done reasonably. Like the guy who got a TX500 Yamaha for $50. Very nice looking bike, in great shape. Said he couldn't get the engine to turn over, thought it was stuck from sitting. Then said the PO told him it had timing issues.

Turned out it indeed had had timing issues..... not ignition like the guy thought, but cam chain. Would turn over because a valve was embedded into a piston. Also all the brakes were frozen plus a few other issues. When we gave him the estimate, he commented, I could be a running bike for less than that. Told him, yup, he could have and should have.

Picked this little one up yesterday. We lost our two old ones within the last few weeks. My remaining dog really needs the company. This is a full blood AKC Australian Shepherd, female. My wifes's niece is the breeder.
