It needs fork seals and maybe a chain but I got a good deal on it. It's all stock except for the nice Renthal bar and currently registered. Can't wait to take it out! ;D

My first watercraft, a 2008 Zodiac Cadet 285S. Now I need an 8hp motor, preferably a Honda 4-stroke to keep it in the family. Going fishing.

Where on earth do you take a boat that size in Toronto?

It's 9' 4" long, best thing is that it packs up really small and can fit in any trunk. Inflation and setup takes around 15 minutes. There are several boat launches around Toronto. I'm going to paddle to a secluded marsh on the Humber just north of the Queensway, I'll bet there's plenty of fish in there.

I got a new lid... now I just need to wait for UPS...

Nexx helmets are quite comfortable and have a huge viewing area. Nice choice Sonreir, I almost bought one last year.

Yeah, I actually meant because it's small. I'm not familiar with the smaller bodies of water where you can launch a boat. I just think about Lake Ontario where something that small might not be the best choice.

Got mine already. Never had something arrive from China so fast.. Better than I expected it to be. Switches feel solid.

Those controls look good John, any chance you can post up a link?

I bought a new helmet, not a big fan of bright and shine fluro fullface so it took me a bit of searching until I came across this.

KBC made "Rockhard" helmet. They have a few different bands as well. Just have to wait for the truck to drop it off at the shop.

Over the winter I built a new platform for the sidecar. The original 5" kart wheel was limited to 130 mph. I went over that and had to come up with something else. I came up with a 10" o.d. alloy wheel which was approved by the SCTA in Dec. A while later (long story) the SCTA went into full blown puckered hole mode and rescinded the approval. Without a speed rating I'm dead in the water. The only way I can get approval is to get a PE to sign and stamp it.

If I hadn't paid my entry ($450) and my crew chief hadn't booked his room ($1100+) I wouldn't give a rats. But with that in mind and the fact I WANT to race there I had to come up with Plan B. This is Plan B. A sheet of alloy, an old Suzuki 18" wheel and a new 90/90-18 Avon tire. Plus some other bits and pieces.

The hard work is done. The wheel mount is 1/2" steel. Why 1/2" I hear you ask? The SCTA have a 10% rule. Meaning 10% of the total weight has to be on the sidecar wheel. So why use light aluminum? I spent a couple of evenings with my mill which bears a very close resemblance to an angle grinder. Only took about four blades and a lot of sweat. Hopefully it will be more or less ready by the weekend.

That's a pic of Toronto today - we've got some serious rain / flooding.

The barriers in that photo are for the Toronto Indy race coming up shortly.
