Re: A way to waste money: The evolution of a confused '74 360
Yeah, I'm really a fan of that Honda Green too Curbcast....it has always caught my eye when I see it on bikes...I just have to see what I can do to make it my own....I dunno man, I'm still torn on this one!
And yeah man, the beard has to stay. It actually makes me look 30 instead of 20.....can't part with it....and man it's great for that wintertime weather! Connects my Momo 3/4 with my face!
Re: A way to waste money: The evolution of a confused '74 360
it just gets better and better! The stance is really cool and definitely unique! And I know how you feel about paint, Ive made up my mind like 10 times..
I am actually on the beard wagon myself. Im not working right now so I just got lazy and didnt shave for a week or two, then I was like "well winter time is coming, so fuckit!" Im not gonna trim until april!
Re: A way to waste money: The evolution of a confused '74 360
the MotoCzysz front end uses linear bearings in the front tubes to aide in travel and reduce friction. The springs are removed and an external Ohlins shock connects the fork tubes to the head stock via the bridge above the tire. It eliminates a lot of poor handling in traditional front suspensions. It would be sweet if you could incorporate this technology in the same "retro" style that you did the rear end... Just a thought...
Re: A way to waste money: The evolution of a confused '74 360
I hear ya' boom! That's my philosophy too man, I just have to keep the face hair...and I appreciate the compliments man.
BC, that front end is insane! I'll have to pull up some pics to see what's going on with that from more angles. I wish I could see one in person. It just looks cool as heck!

Update time!
I wanted to say how much I appreciate all of your insight and compliments. Without you guys I might just get distracted and do something besides work on her. She also got a name today. This is now Project Gretta! It's after one of my favorite WWII pinups Gretta Christensen:
So I got a ton today done on the bike. Finished the body work on the seat. It's primed and ready for finish paint. I installed the reworked front end including bars, gauges and lights. I put the all balls bearing kit on her and she is golden. I also installed my Bar end mirrors. I wanted to get a good idea how this ol girl was panning out. I also cut down the rear wheel forks and welded in a couple of shims in there since the originals were cut too wide where the axle bolt slips in. After that I installed the rear wheel to see how she fits with the 130/90 tire in the new fender, and man I tell ya', it's like a glove!!!
After that I cut down the old rusty front fender and hit it hard with the brush wheel on the grinder. I like it! So after that I got some good shots and gave the shop a much needed cleaning. This weekend I intend on mounting the motor to finish up all of the fitment there such as the coils and shifter linkage. Still have to reassemble the top half of the motor after the valve job, but it shouldn't be too difficult. Then I plan on hitting the motor with a black POR-15 engine enamel that I've had for a while. It should work well. I'm still debating on filling in the Honda logos on the side covers and sanding them down to paint them just to make people have that WTF look when they see my bike. I have two sets, one is polished up and the other is nasty, so the nasty ones would be worth bead blasting and trying this on. We'll see! I ordered a tail light tanks to SpaceJunk's advice from Mr Tail Light. Looks like this:
So here are a bunch of pics to give you an idea.

Rider profile:
Everything you see black is powdered. The brakes are done in a high heat satin. Everything else is gloss black. Looks sick to me. Hope you guys like it, and I can't wait to hear your comments brothers and sisters!

Wow, I can't believe how fast you work. This thing is just Sick, Sick, Sick!
Never in a million years would I have ever believed that a monoshock retro cafe racer would become one of my favorite builds to come out of DTT. But yes this one is doing it for me. There are a lot of sick builds out there. This one ranks right up there, IMO. And after seeing your other build I know that I won't be disappionted in your finish. Keep it up.
Re: Project Gretta: The evolution of a confused '74 360
Wow man, I am truly honored. That means the world. I appreciate your faith in me man. I just live on my sleeve and move from day to day to see how things turn out. It's really just an evolution....like the title says. I'm just happy to be your friends and to be a part of this amazing site. DTT rocks!
Re: Project Gretta: The evolution of a confused '74 360
that tail light will look great on there. i was a bit confused on the chopped off tail piece but now i get it....and i hate to give cosmetic advice buuut...id move the speedo and tach mounts to the bottom side of the tree rather than on top to drop em down a touch. and maybe give them a bend toward you...but thats just me...looking good, cant wait to see the light out back
Re: Project Gretta: The evolution of a confused '74 360
That's great advice Space. I'll do just that. I agree with you there. I am going to build some sort of "dash" to go there too with a neutral indicator, a high beam indicator, an "on" indicator (I'll be using the key switch for the kill, so I want to know when the bike is in the "hot" position. There will also be a switch to kill the head light. I'll adjust the gauges to see where they need to be once I get that done. Thanks man.
Re: Project Gretta: The evolution of a confused '74 360
Wow...
Bike looks amazing!! Just wondering about the rear fender, radius seems to be a little off in relation to the tire. Maybe it's just me though!!
I love it man, I'll try to get that engine torn down tommorrow beween work and the tattoo shop lol!! Keep your fingers crossed on the cam chain slippers!!
Re: Project Gretta: The evolution of a confused '74 360
Thanks Marc, I'll be prayin!
And yep, it is a little off. I don't know if I'll fix it or not. I have a friend with a roller wheel that I may try to roll it out with some...the other option is to cut it slightly and spread it, but I don't want it to look kinked. We'll see.
Either way, thanks for the props man! They're appreciated.

It's amazing how much your horizons are broadened by hacking up a cafe and turning to the "bob side". ;D
Build is looking great brother. I do agree on dropping the clocks, but that is a minor detail on this monster. Love the black, love the gloss mixed with satin, the stance, tire choice, hell the whole damn look. I can't wait to see it in full color. Full speed ahead.
Re: Project Gretta: The evolution of a confused '74 360
Thanks Crescent! Your words mean millions bro! I can't even begin to express how much you guys' words mean to me. It's like an extended family! Who woulda thought bikes could bring so many great folks to one place! Thank you!
Re: Project Gretta: The evolution of a confused '74 360
Color is great, understated, which I like. I don't think the honda graphics work very well though. they don't suit the lines of that tank you have and I'm looking past the photoshop mock up here. I think the mock up with those stripes looks better than they would if they were on your actual tank. A different black stripe pattern would probably be better.
The bike is truly unique looking. really cool. Looks sort of like a praying mantis. I can't wait to see it finished and how it performs for you.
