Re-birth of MadMax.. ---- 79 Yamaha XS1100

Thanks Bluesmoke.

I might try to see if this wheel will actually fit on my rear axle? currently it's got 99-2004 speed triple in the back, but I found this 2009 speed triple wheel that has the 4 lug fitment? I thought they usually come in 5?? Definitely worth checking it out.

Unfortunately, went for a ride to a local event over the weekend, and short out possibly Rectifier?? it was just wayyyyy too hot to be out riding, and I just finally got it back with the new carb and itching to ride. and it was like paradise getting there, and as soon I was leaving, before I even made out of the parking lot. Everything just shut off!!!! ??? and then I had someone help me check the battery, full juice! and all fuse were in tact. But I'm still not getting any power what so ever?? and even the alarm is not work?? So I'm guessing that I blew out the rectifier or something along that line?? but the good thing is, it will force me to get it back in the shop and get the wiring re-work correctly. so I can really minimize it and then tune more on the new carb. and then the last thing would be the exhaust, then Photoshoot time after that!!! So hopefully it will be back in action within a few weeks.

gonna tackle the mess the last shop created!!! it's basically a rat nest in there.. and gonna take out the alarm, and probably add the key back in, or maybe a finger print scan system in it?? never done any electric repair work before, but here I go!! Got all the tools, and wires, slowly label them and replace them as I go.

Just stumbled onto this thread and this bike is amazing. Any updates on her?

been super busy with work, so haven't work on it much. but I got one of my friend to help me, and we manage to strip down the electrical to bare minimal. But the last time I try to fire it up, it still not working correctly. we are very close tho. It seems like it wants to start. but then it will cut out. I think there might be just 1-2 more wiring issues and then it should good to go. hopefully I can have time to look at it again this week.

and decide to go without the alarm, just too much junk in there. and the first pics shows how much wires and junk we had strip off of it!! ha haa..
