In answer to a question you asked earlier: The more accurate the measurement, the more accurate will be the output. That said, remember that once you establish the baseline, what really matters is the variables that you change and the effect on the shape of the power curve. It's a development tool, not a fortune teller with crystal balls to see exactly where you will end up, but the more accurate you are, the clearer the crystal will be and the clearer the vision of your future.
And keep in mind that we aren't expected to know everything about how a two stroke works. We don't have the words or understanding to do that. But as we take these steps, we discover more and learn and from that comes wisdom and occasionally power to the rear wheel.
And with those wire circlips, curve them in gently and they will pop into place.
