The SkyTeam 'Ace' Resource

Another dumb question that I can't see the answer too reading back through the thread, whats wrong with the plumbing that comes with the kit?

just a short thank you to BrooksNick, a while back he posted a simple and to scale "sketch" of an ace. It is proving invaluable as I am considering making my own cafe seat and wanted to trial a few different shapes. I can't begin to let you know how useful it has been.

Cheers

Hey Sprocket, and anyone else interested, the sketch is on the bottom of Page 107.
thnks mate, i did a colour drawing of an ace, but not as detailed as that one :D
i somehow missed thatone in the thread.

stock plug after 3700km running stock carby and jets but a 38mm header and muffler. not looking too bad , no pitting or burning. the tip and electrode look clean , ad it is running a touch on the lean side, but thats normal for these engines to get past emissions.

Speedo check today. Interesting results, under reading, then over reading. Tried it a few times at each speed and it was consistent.

In NZ we have 30 km/h through roadworks (and still lots of them repairing earthquake damage) and 50, 60, 70, 80 and 100 km/h zones

Over the summer holidays they are using just a 1 km/h tolerance for officers that pull you over (speed cameras are still 4 km/h tolerance), so best to know how accurate the speedo is. I had assumed it would over read a bit like most cars do.

Speedo vs GPS (in km/h)
10 11
20 22
30 33
40 42
50 51
60 60
70 70
80 77
90 87

thats good to know, but i would have a guess with these cheap speedos that there is a high chance that they would all be different from each other a little bit as well. so best to check your own speedo,
Also things like hot or cold weather can cause the metal to expand or contract differently at extremes in side the speedo spring , so in summer and winter they could be totally different. The best defence is to sit 5kph below the posted limit then you should be in the clear :)

Or in my case spend some of my Chritmas money that I got given for bike bits on this (finally) and set it up right. Should be interesting to see how accurate it is...

What brand is that Tach/Speedo? I did a search for T&T but came up empty handed.

I really need to do thus to mine. About a week ago the speedo read 100kph. Now that was down hill with tail wind but it sure as hell felt like 100!!

Will get a GPS cradle this week and see what it really does :)

its quite possible thats the speed it was doing. on the way home when i picked the bike up, my wife clocked me at 105kph and the gps down hill reading i did hit 114kph, but the engine was screaming, so i dont do that often.

I bought from that site. They take off the vat if you are not in Europe. 10-12 working days delivery to New Zealand.
