Well shit, of course I'm in. After last year I pretty much considered it a tradition to be. Most likely be rolling with my Cleveland Moto crew. Not all DTT members but all great guys. The non members just don't like computers much.
It's only 530 miles for me. I'm still on the fence about how to get there. Maybe someone in Florida is driving and feels like car-pooling or something. Who knows.
This trip really sounds awesome. I've been trying to get to deals for 15 + years now and have never made it yet, but I will definitely be there for the gtg. It will also be great to see everyone I met at barbers last year at the vintage festival. I will have the cb200 I got at the barbers auction (for 30 bucks) finished by then so Melissa will have a ride too. I'll be putting pics of the 200 up on the site soon also. Anyway Melissa and I are in for sure,we will be coming up with Kiley and Denise. See y'all there.
Welcome aboard cyclefreak! Look forward to seeing you again.
Hey Mike I see a problem with the poll. It only represents one person per family/group. I Initially thought it was going to be a good way to get a numbers count. Also there is no differentiation between accommodation choice, IE:Hotel, Hostel, or tent camping. If you can get an exact number and everyones's accommodation preference it will give you an idea of how much of what to reserve. I'd hate for the group to get stuck renting too much.
However you know there will be late comers. Hopefully there would be enough camp sites for those people.
Personally I don't want to stay in a hostel or hotel and was looking to rent an a frame cabin. I think it would be best to leave those for the couples. So I'll be switching to a tent.
So, I will not have a truck for this GTG. This means that y'all will have to help me put my bike back together when I get to the campsite. That's right, I will be rolling with my chop inside my Scion xB.
Well I am now not able to make this one. I started telling Jill and she was excited until I told her the date. We have 15 people coming to our place that very same weekend for the biggest U2 concert ever. Some coming from Scotland and Bermuda. I really don't give 2 shits about the concert, but the family and friends I can't ditch. So, I am going to have to come visit a different time, or come early and leave to be home for the 30th. Which would suck. I totally forgot the date of the bloody show. This bums me out because I could just ride down solo but I can't not be there to see the family and friends. I will just have to use this as leverage to get to Barbor this year. I am sad today.
i have no idea actually how i will be getting there... the more i think about it the more i may just fly in and rent a bike... not scared of a long ride at all but just not sure how much free time i will have... may possibly ship one of my smaller vintage scoots there too... we will see as it gets closer
now that i can do!!! would ride if i had someone to roll with... 14 hrs... done it before dont see any reason not to do it again... but def not on the cafe! this one will be HD with full fairings and bags... maybe even take the goldwing from my brother for the weekend
2. might not be able to make it this year. we'll see- baby is due at the end of may, so it's a little after that rather than being right when she's due. also, tennessee is much closer than WV.
Well folks, Ill be straight with ya... There is NO possible way that we can reserve all of the room that has been discussed with so few people responding. Im certainly not putting up the deposit with no gurantee that we'll have enough folks show up to cover the tab... So... Heres the deal. If about 15 or so of you want to get together and rent the hostle, please do it. It will allow room for about 40 tents as well, and the tent folk can just pay for their stay when they get there. Then theres the cabins. You wont get a discount on those though. But, there cheap. Im not bailing on this by the way, its just not possible to rent all this space when I only have a dozen yes's.
How much was the hostile for 3 days? I understand it would be split 15 ways...
If we Really aren't gonna have a ton of people going, maybe we should just try to do a east coast one, then south for barber?
I want to go to the tail And deals as much as anyone, but if we aren't going to have a big turn out , prices go up for everyone. Just thinking out loud..
It would be cool to have a smaller east gtg because that would open up funds to make barber a reality this year. If we do tenn barber is more than likely out.
