The Moped Army have a huge gathering every year in louisville around derby time. Literally 100's of them swarming around town. They seem to be having fun and doing their thing.

Ya honestly man, its like when I was into old VWs. The local hot rod guys would always bust my balls for messing with "hippy garbage" or Id hear "oh, VWs are a good start". In the end, I had fun working on them, and met a ton of killer people. Some cats just dont dig or cant afford "real" bikes. To each their own is right. As long as what you do doesnt involve a shitty attitude or youre not fucking up someone elses vibe, youre all good in my book. Hell, if I could afford it my ass would be restoring a vintage Vespa. What homophobia? I don't recall any homophobia. I do recall joking about fucking someone over getting fucked. If that tweaks your nose, I apologize. I joke about me, personally, having sex with guys. That's kind of the opposite of homophobia.

I don't mind scooters at all, I just don't care for any of the proclaimed hipsters I've met.

I rented out some space in my shop to 3 guys that build those things. I'm a little jealous as they can completely rebuild and install a motor and completely mod a bike in about a half hour and for like $60. Sheesh. (i exaggerate for effect.)
