XV920 "Short Bus"

Much to my surprise, I may actually pull this off.

Yep. And under it, a bit of Bondo and glazing putty, all wet sanded down. Now: to seal the tank.

Just rustoleum-ing the top coat? I wanted to do that for mine, just I thought about the paint not being gas resistant? But I don't know if that makes a difference.

I will probably use Duplicolor spraycans for the color coat and will definitely use a 2K clearcoat (for that very reason). I have access to a really nice paint booth so the plan is to line the tank and then finish it. I haven't quite worked out how I want to paint it yet.

I wasn't sure of the type of paint. So I guess 2K is it. I have someone that I may hand painting things to. Or not cause I'm cheap.

There's a great painting thread here - and if you use 2K, cover your skin, wear a proper respirator, in a booth or outside. It'll kill ya.

Thanks for the heads up.
P.S- I used to salmon fish in the Ausable and camp out there as well near Mio,I believe. Are you near there at all? That area is beautiful, looks great for riding.

Unfortunately I will have to burn my garage down...

It is just a spider man. Just squash it with some plyers and be done. Although being that I have no idea about American spiders it might be better just to burn it with a lighter or something.
Good to see the tank is getting a fresh coat. Are you going to airbrush Honda along the side?

Oztrillya
has much worse spiders than murrica, they tend to kill you rather than just make you real sick. Brown Recluse is pretty nasty though, necrotising venom

Course of various antibiotics to prevent secondary infection and your just left with a scar (eventually ::) )

Thanks for that PJ. Brodie, it's actually a pretty neat spider, but I know a couple guys reading this are not exactly big fans.

And I'm looking forward to seeing what I come up with too! ::)

True - we have some pretty scary beasties but they will (mostly) leave you alone.

I didn't know the range of the Brown Recluse extended as far north as Michigan.

Crazy (a closet arachnophile)

Crazy - they don't. We haven't yet had a confirmed sighting in the state.

That said, I live in a house that I share with a huge spider population. We just finished painting our house a couple of weeks ago and you would never know it, as there are already cobwebs everywhere.

Paint the spider on the side of the tank.

I mean put him on it and then paint over him. It'll look cool come on!

I know what you mean about living in spiderland. They don't even bother me anymore.

I love how literal you made that sound. I just imagined some dude painting a spider to a tank.

I think if you could stick him on there at finish colour then 2K clear him into the tank it would be cool. I have seem plenty of spiders in epoxy etc. Kind of that effect in a spot on the tank.
