XV920 "Short Bus"

He was referring to the cost of building up the XS650 he had just acquired, not the cost of his Virago.

Re: XV920 "Short Bus"

I did this with a $200 running bike. It was a better plan.

Exhaust brackets look good. Need to pull them and paint.

And my son and I played in the garage today lining up fasteners.

Re: XV920 "Short Bus"

It's alive! Again!

I would put up a video but it's 11pm here and even with the new pipes it's loud as fuck (but it's cool loud instead of tractor loud like the MAC pipes produced.) I think there's an intake leak - sort of a screaming whistle at idle. Charging system is doing its thing nicely and my 8-cell battery turns it over no problem.

Like a true pro, I use a salvaged lawnmower gas tank for testing.

I like it a bit myself! Intake leak gone. I'm going to clean up the wiring runs a bit and fasten the fuse box in and all that's left is paint.

FINALLY

It occurs to me that putting up that video is actually the least number of times one can push a button and hear a Virago start

Re: XV920 "Short Bus"

That's crazy. He doesn't have AIDS.

Just need to paint the tank and finish this list (saved below because my kids steal all my paper)

Lol, and yours started pretty fast too!

Get a room you two I'm trying to have a build thread in here

Build thread of 51 pages? I think they built the Hoover Dam in less time than that!

Re: XV920 "Short Bus"

And more than a hundred people died. Think I'm doing okay so far.

Re: XV920 "Short Bus"

I'm always happy, Mr. Waters

Re: XV920 "Short Bus"

I just read through all 76 pages on this thread and I LOVE IT! You mentioned the carbs are weird for this bike, how do you mean? My dad just got an 82 XV920 and the first thing that needs to be taken care of on it is the carbs. (And the rusty gas tank <~~simple annoyance at this point) Any pointers?
