And now to an ad 'for I cant believe Thats a Motorbike- we'll b e right back with some ffffffffffffotos directly.
Stay tuned loyal hecklers....there'll be a cafe racer coming your way any month now.

Don't try and palm us off with that ration of crap ;) We want the full fat, high caffeine, low fibre version with more E numbers than you can shake a stick at. And smellovision to boot.

electrical sidestand

does anyone know?
if the side stand connector is disconnected/missing does that mean the ignition will not work

yup, the answer is in that diagram. upload a well scanned image of it if you want any actionable help. otherwise its just a guess.

yeah dodgy- non colour diagram- I 've looked and it doesnt tell me if the circuit is live when disconnected I'm guessing no. So I'm gonna solder it to the hot side to guarantee its switched on.
Thanks for all the comments.

Just refitted

Brake plate
brakes
rear wheel
clutch mechanism and assembly
re-soldered all existing wires
bled the brakes
degreased everything
did electro tests for
stator
reg rec
coils
The clutch plates are gonna come out and a heavy duty clutch installed
rear wheel needs new brake leads
all the screws and bolts need to be shinified
the tank is being electrolyted (is that a word) again- but I'll probably get a new tank as its a beast

Regarding the wiring diagram: I always make a new one since there are always wires getting changed around. Just get a pencil and a small straight edge (and usually a magnifying glass) and start drawing it out. It may take a couple attempts to get it right/legible, but worth it in the long haul.

will do......... just workin on getting her running and then a tear down and rewire with diagram- still need to get spark before I spend much more...who'd guess Two cut off switches- both with missing leads/parts making them invisible

the diagram isnt even in color?! theres got to be a better one floating around the interwebs somewhere. what year is this thing anyway?

Most wiring diagrams are not in color. The wire colors are labeled with a legend telling you what the color abbreviations mean.

So far in the starting system, I see... Battery, starter motor, fuse that goes to ignition switch, the starter button, starter lockout switch and the starter solenoid. I do not see a sidestand switch. From what I remember, the switch onthe sidestand was only there for you if you put it in gear, or let out the clutch while in gear, it would kill the bike.

As for the ignition system I see...Battery with fuse to ignition switch, engine kill switch that powers the coils and IC ignitor (commonly referred to as the ECU) and pickup coil and timing rotor (that has 2 connections to the ignitor)

I was wondering the same..whats the year and is it the spectre or KZ or ZX?

Ive seen those. I normally keep looking until I find one that is in color. they exist for most bikes, and since this thing isnt exactly rare I'm sure there's one out there.

It's a 1984 KZ750-P1 shaft- in the same manual- as the spectre and limited-otherwise known as a GT- no colour abbreviations just a cheapass manual.
abbreviation is KZ750 GT. Look for the fugly four.

It has a clutchlockout and a sidestand kill switch - which as far as I can tell is automatically killed- since the circuit is broken- when disconnected and lost by the previous owner- the same goes for the clutch lockout - which makes things difficult when the clutch is also entirely missing-(now replaced)-

I wanna splice both these wires to hot connections to make em work.
Thanks for looking around for me - Ill update later

I'll upload a scan of mine- see what you think- pretty much unreadable though- thnx for looking

build photo's- the brake plate is new- the shaft was rusted on and required a rather large hammer, new clutch..
the brakes are temporarily on to stop them dragging I need new brake plate thingo's- shoes maybe? before I fix it properly- the brake disc is also under spec

Ive put a loop in the connector for the kick stand on the idea that the hot side will run straight through and register as connected...errrm ...maybe.
lastly that little on off switch is my temporary starter- tester lead- Im looking at rewiring the ignition circuit entirely just need a spare 6 hours.
