Hillsy that is not all correct bud, their drag bikes are built using screaming eagle race parts, that is the race division at HD. they make some awesome parts. HD just has a bad rep on here for some reason :) but you can use screaming eagle parts and easily get over 100HP in a stage 2
hell HD even sells a out of the box 1/4 mile bike all done up and ready to run!

Well, I don't consider the V-Rod Destroyer to be a "Harley" as such....I even actually like the V=Rod ;D

100HP in stage 2?? Wow - that's about 30HP less than a stock R6 ::) And a stock litre bike out of the box will beat the Destroyer on the strip too.

Anyway, keep up the work on the FZR bud - hope you get a Trailtech or Acewell soon so you can get that headlight sorted ;)

ha ha ha this is true... but nothing makes the pussy go whoooo whooooo like the sound of a v twin! :) hell ya i need to get the headlight sorted that sucker is out there!

There IS scientific proof that certain frequencies make women get all warm and ..err...fuzzy. As much as I prefer other engines, the MOCO rattler does it and the R6 doesn't. Luckily I have other means of making them melt! HA!

My CBR600 with its mods had a good bit of high frequency vibration in the seat, even more in the less padded passenger seat. I had several girls who always wanted to go for a quick spin around the block. Later a girl who would often want to ride herself told me that the vibrations hit just the right spot and only a short ride was needed to get the job done!

That's why you don't see a lot of girls in bike racing - VERY hard to keep focussed.... :o

ha ha ha i am not sure what that says about my wife then, ha ha ha she has 3 bikes of her own and always likes to go for a ride on the HD... now i guess i know why!

anyway... had a awsome day the first half of yesterday and i was finally able to pull the fighter out and have her hop on it.. SHE LOVES THIS BIKE... loved ripping on it... also my buddy and i went for a ride. Just finished up his 107 kit in his HD... sick fast... not even funny how fast it is... he spanked me on the FZR600 like it was not even a race, then did the same to my buddy on his CBR600... just awesome to watch a HD spanking up on rockets, i was very impressed, the true track really did well to keep the back tire behind him and not get squirly
* few more changes and she is ready for show and shine!

well today i am in the office and hte wife is out riding wiht a few of my buddies on rockets... she loves the power the bike has to offer... so much so that we where going to ride to the shop and get her bob out of storage, instead she decided that she just wanted to ride the fighter! ha ha ha what have I created... got the LED kit done, sucky pic wiht the cell i know... but i will get one of it moving, looks wicked... also the HID kit showed up, looks awesome, i am SUPER pumped to rock it! here are some pics

HID ROCKS!!!!!
i ordered 2 so that i can run duel HID but they are so bright there is no point, the other one is going into my wifes bobber. I wired them up so in the day i can run the stock light as the running headlight, then at night i can click on the brights and the HID will come on and the stock other bulb to brights... it is BRIGHT!!!! i love it!!!!

brights on

man i am going to leave it... i have to say, i really like it, it gets so much attention! least for this season... if i still have it this winter then i am going to change a few things. this week i am going to go to a 20W fork oil, change the fluids, and add my stearing damper, then light up the space between the light and frame

Joe, what diameter are those forks?
I may have a source for emulators that'll fit...that aren't expensive. Would make all the difference in the world....

they are 38mm forks, that would be awesome, it is just jelly up front, i know i lowered the hell out of it, but i think i should have gone with a heavy(r) weight fork oil, some emulators would be awesome!!!

ooh ya, and i blew a fork seal last night, so i know i do not have enough resisance in there... it handles well but could be better, since i have to drop the tubes out to put on the damper clamp (swagger made me a killer bracket) i may as well redo them. I am also thinking of using a O ring chain when i put on the new sprocket (also may do that this week)

Pick a pair of these up: http://www.debrix.com/41mm-Fork-Damper-Valve-2000-up-Harley-FXST-Softail-p/24-0361-vt.htm

They are for 41mm forks, but if they'll fit in the tubes it doesn't really matter as far as I can tell.
I've got a pair and they seem to be really nice, and for the money tough to beat....compare that to $160 or so for racetech.
They've got an od of 33.04mm and enough material that I can skim a mm or two off if needed.
Just drill a couple extra holes in your damper rods and you should be good.

here's how they fit:
http://racetech.com/images/FEGV2page6L.jpg
If you look close, you'll note some gap between the inner wall of the fork tube and the body of the emulator valve.
The valves I found in my xs650 have quite a bit of clearance around them, and the ones I got for the K75 forks have very little so I think there's a bit of 'wiggle room' as far as how close they fit.

What's the id of those fork tubes?

thats awesome! i have seen the race tech ones an they are stupid $$$$ i can dig it... ill get you the measuremnets on the tubes... man the 39mm ones they have on there are 97 bucks! but these are only 27! hell maybe taking a bit off them and making them work is the ticket!

dont go to a higher fork weight... pj explained this one to me. it does not make up for weak springs. you need to increase preload or go to a higher strength spring. he says its best to run the lightest fork oil; he runs 5w20 full synthetic. you want to fork oil to move as freely as possible; if you want to increase dampening, then you need to revalve (usually by welding a hole shut in the damping rod).
